I hear they’re going to pass a Pension Fund Replenishment Surtax. They’ll just figure out the funding gap each year and add each taxpayer’s share to their regular income tax. Who says we can’t resolve the state’s pension funding woes?

I’m waiting for all the noise when they realize that revenue from the Prop. 30 income tax rate hikes falls way short of projections — as upper income folks and their financial advisors find ways to rearrange their finances to minimize the hit. Not to mention employers who decide to leave or not come here in the first place so that their higher paid employees won’t have the high state income tax burden.

How about the state Assembly and Senate? I heard Dems claiming a super-majority in the Assembly but nothing about the Senate.
