Rep. Mark Takano, D-Riverside, gets the quick-thinking snark award for his response to news that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, was withdrawing from the race to be the next House Speaker.
He created a Craigslist-style help-wanted ad.

I couldn’t find the ad on Craigslist, so I checked with Takano’s office. “It was just a mock-up,” communications director Josh Weisz said this evening. “Craigslist deletes that stuff pretty quickly.”
The two-term Takano has practiced Jedi-level snark before. The former high-school teacher in 2013 took a red pen to a draft letter on immigration policy that Republican lawmakers were circulating, pointing out flaws, grading it with an “F” and asking them to “see me after votes.”
