Ok, I'm looking for a rebound from last week. Here goes nothing.

(5) Monte Vista over Berkeley. Berkeley has plenty of athleticism and speed but you get the feeling that they haven't gotten everything rolling just yet. That said, watch out in the ACCAL for the Yellow Jackets. Just not this week.

(4) Las Lomas over Alhambra. Alhambra came back strong last week but I'm giving the edge to LL simply because I don't think that loss to Mitty was an indicator of much. Give them credit for tackling the tough teams, Alhambra being one of them.

(3)Ygnacio Valley over Deer Valley. I didn't pick this higher because Chris Allen is the ultimate equalizer. However, I don't think Becerra and Co. will let him get into clear lanes much. Ask our resident hell week writer, how tough is it to get through that line?

(2)Livermore over Alameda. This is so tough. Two teams who will have much motivation. Livermore's record has suffered due to being in such a competitive league in recent years. Alameda is coming off a bad loss and it's never good to meet a bunch of buzzing Hornets. Still, I think Livermore eeks it out.

(1)Skyline over Foothill. I'm diverging from the norm again but this week I'm doing it for less points. Skyline's had a tough, tough time scoring points this season but does anyone really believe these guys would open a season 0-3-1? I know most will say that Foothill's discipline takes them over the top here but for a point, I'm taking the Titans.

(5)Foothill over Skyline. This isn't your older brother's Skyline team, but Foothill is as steady as ever. If the Falcons don't turn the ball over a bunch of times, they'll roll.

(4)Monte Vista over Berkeley. Monte Vista whipped its first two opponents (Antioch, West-Tracy), but Berkeley is a step up in competition. Still, the Yellow Jackets don't have enough firepower to keep up with MV.

(3)Deer Valley over Ygnacio Valley. The Wolverines have scored 35 of their 42 points this season in the first half. If they get off to another fast start Friday, it could spell trouble for YV, which has a hard time making comebacks with its double-wing offense.

(2)Las Lomas over Alhambra. LL has beaten the 'Dogs four of the last five years. RB Brandon Rutley will have his hands full against a very good Knights front seven.

(1)Alameda over Livermore. Are the glory days back in L-Town? Not quite. The Hornets will be a little ticked after being spanked by Cal last week.
