Forecasting the night away

So, four games this weekend to decide the East Bay NCS champions. Does that also mean that we’re going to decide the East Bay forecasting champion? Who knows. What I do know is that all of a sudden I have some catching up to do after punting the Salesian/Ferndale game last week. No guts no glory though, eh? I’ll be monitoring the results from the office, leaving the cold weather to our other two forecasting geniuses.

(6) El Cerrito over Miramonte — History says I’m wrong on this pick. I say this is the best Gauchos’ squad since the 1998 team that Miramonte mopped up 40-0 in the final. Once again, I recommend stopping by the Red Onion for a pregame meal or, if you’re over 21 years old, head to downtown Pinole and grab the prime rib at the Antlers Tavern. Then watch the Gauchos win their first NCS title in school history.
(4) Salesian over St. Patrick-St. Vincent — Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and it’s completely my fault. Joey Cuadros and Co. shut down a vaunted Ferndale running attack last week and this week they’ll put the clamps on Javon Carrington, Jason Garcia, and the Bruins. As long as Jahvid Best isn’t hurt, Salesian goes back-to-back.
(2) Hayward over Alhambra — I’ve ridden Brandon Rutley as far as I can take him I think. The Farmers are hungry, they have a pretty complete team, and the game is at Dublin (as neutral a site as you can get with these two teams). I’m playing a hunch, which is why I have the least confidence in this pick.
