Got Milk?

Sunday, November 11th, 2007 at 9:44 am in East Bay Football, Live NCS football seeding updates.

Just grabbed my donut, but man there is no milk. This is going to be tough.

Anyway, I made it into the North Coast Section 4-A East Bay seeding meeting room.  Not many people are here yet. We still have about 20 minutes before the meeting begins and the coaches start to fill out the chalkboard.

Berkeley High coach Alonzo Carter walked in for a moment to check out the questions he will need to fill out. Remember, this is Alonzo’s first NCS seeding meeting. He was at McClymonds and never had to bid to get his team into the playoffs.

Of course, Berkeley won the ACCAL and has the automatic berth into the postseason. But Alonzo will certainly want to avoid the No. 8 seed. That of course means a first-round match against De La Salle. Most teams try to avoid the No. 8, No. 4 and No. 5 seeds so they could be on the opposite side of De La Salle.

I suggest reading my previous blog about the process of the NCS seeding meeting. This will help you follow along. I will be back in about 15 minutes.

Michael, Foothill had a big win in mid-season over SJAA section powerhouse Lincoln High School of Stockton. Lincoln went undefeated in their league play and they had three D1 prospects. Will this help Foothill’s case? I believe the last spot has been narrowed down to FHS and DV. Thanks for the BLOG.

It certainly won’t hurt Foothill’s case. The problem the Falcons have is that loss to Monte Vista. The Mustangs have a better league record than the Falcons and overall record. That will speak volumes to the committee.
