Dress warmly — Might I suggest a tortilla?

If you’re planning on heading to any of the North Coast Section playoff games tonight, bring a blanket or two. I’ll be heading to Santa Rosa shortly to cover St. Elizabeth and St. Vincent in the Class B championship game. The forecast calls for temperatures of about 41 degrees, with wind chill dipping it down to 38.

When I spoke with St. Liz coach Fred Sims about the expected frigid conditions, he provided the quote of the year when he said “I’m going to be wrapped up like a burrito.” Gotta love it. I’m breaking out the snowboarding gear to head out there.

Forecasts for the other games are just about the same. The temperature at game time in Dublin for the Pinole Valley-San Ramon Valley 3-A regional final calls for 44 degrees, with a wind chill dropping it to 41. In Martinez, where St. Patrick-St. Vincent faces Ferndale in the Class A title game, the game time temperature is supposed to be 45, with wind chill making it 41.

Bundle up!
