Brought to you courtesy of Dennis Miller, here is our first edition of the East Bay girls soccer rankings. I will tout about the No. 1 team because the Trojans are in my jurisdiction. CV is going to be on top for a while with a ton of sophomore sensations.
1. Castro Valley (12-1-1)
2. Monte Vista (13-2-2)
3. Carondelet (10-1-4)
4. San Ramon Valley (9-3-4)
5. Foothill (11-2-2)
6. Bishop O’Dowd (8-3-0)
7. Amador Valley (7-2-5)
8. Clayton Valley (11-1-4)
9. California (9-3-2)
10. Miramonte (11-1-1)

I never thought I’d see the day where it wasn’t either Carondelet or an EBAL team as the top girls team in the area. Props to CV.
Very impressive that the Trojans were able to score 4 goals against Monte Vista, which has been scored on in just two other GAMES all year.

CV is loaded with talent. Remember the names Micaela and Morgan Castain and Eileen Maes. Those three are sophomore sensations and will end up playing D-I soccer somewhere in a couple years. Actually, the CV coach Paul McCallion said his whole starting roster could be D-I or D-II by the time each is finished at CV.

Yes gentlement, CV is loaded this year and is deserving of it’s top spot — the big test will be success in NCS — at the end of the year, it’s not wins in December which mean a thing. It’s all about the NCS playoffs…
Should be exciting.

Just like to point out that Northgate (12-2-1) beat both Bishop O’Dowd (8-3) and Miramonte (11-1-1). Maybe that should be considered in the next poll.
