NCS Soccer Quarterfinal Predictions

Here we go all with the quarterfinals. There are some great games taking place Saturday night. I wanted to bring up something else before getting to the picks. Is it just me, or should be we be playing the Saturday games during the afternoon? Wouldn’t a nice 1 or 2 p.m. start be wonderful? Better soccer, better weather to watch soccer — NCS says the reason for the night games is no one would show up for an afternoon game. Monte Vista tried to move it’s girls game to the afternoon and was told NO.

Only way we can change this, since NCS thinks I’m crazy (OK, hold the comments) is to let them know what you think. Karen Smith is the best person to talk with and she does listen, so if you’re interested, send your desire to see afternoon NCS soccer on the weekends to ksmith10@cifncs.org or call (925) 866-8400. It’s probably not going to make a difference, but what the heck, give it a shot…

Hey about playing the 2-A and 3-A finals at the same place? Let’s go 11, 1, 3 and 5 p.m……Dublin High would be a great spot for a great day of soccer.

Would you rather have NCS Saturday soccer in the afternoon or at night?

  1. Michael Bower Says:

I nearly blew over watching the soccer game at Cal High on Wednesday at night, not to mention freeze my tail off! I vote for the afternoon! It is just all-around more pleasant.

  2. Soocer Fan Says:

CCS Plays afternoon soccer for their play-offs. It is time for NCS to do the same. I can’t believe I am going to say this, but I agree with the whistle.

  3. tym Says:

Dmill, I agree with the afternoon soccer…not all of the games because some are fun at night but its saturday afternoon at 2pm….what the heck does anyone have to do? Well I have to give it to you…at least you are consistent….Giving DLS the win at SR and picking Tennyson to upset Northgate….seriously you must have some hatred for Northgate or again I will say you have not seen them play. Not having a home game hurts them considering they have yet to lose at home….this goes with the afternoon game thing….thanks a lot NCS.

  4. Jimmy Durkin Says:

How bout that Lancer love from the Whistle! A home playoff game is a nice reward for Tennyson now that they finally have a field to play on after years of chewing up the baseball outfield.

  5. Scout Says:

I think Tennyson’s game was moved to 2pm. They are hosting the game and don’t have any lights. The field, although looks nice initially, is not properly marked for soccer; calling the in/out along the goal line can get pretty tricky.

  6. Darryl Says:

Hayward vs. Pitt..I havent had the chance to see Hayward this year, anyone have any insight? Maybe a couple players to see at the game? Do they have any chance against Pitt-it seems like they would, I know Cal High was a pretty good team with a great keeper.
    Predictions, just 2 actually..
    Logan 1, Amador 0
    DLS 1, SRV 0

  7. Lancer Says:

Tennyson is not gonna lose at home. Maybe on the road but not at home.

  8. Michael Bower Says:

    Darryl,

Hayward is built around a solid defense led by Jean Carlos Farfan (#18). Midfielder Carlos Contreras is only a sophomore but is all over the place _ an excellent player. He is # 20. As far as offense, the Farmers are led by Avery Medina (#8). He knows how to finish. It should be a great game.

  9. Jeancarlos Farfan Says:

    Michael,

i appriaciate your comment because it’s true. we do have a solid defense which is led by me and our offense is strong thanks to aver medina and francisco ayala. i think we could beat pittsburg but it will be very challenging and very competitive.

  10. Darryl Says:

    Michael B,
Thanks for the information..I think that is the game I will attend. I figure DLS and SRV is going to be too much english style for me. I enjoy watching Pitt’s attacking players and if what u say is true about Hayward it should be a great game.

  11. tym Says:

Lancer…..Tennyson was very lucky to get out of the Alhambra game with a W. Alhambra had 3-4 great chances to score and couldn’t put them away, Alhambra’s defense was very unorganized and Tennyson still didn’t look like they would score, obivous foul on the PK but it is more the clumsy/hacking style Alhambra likes to play that got them in trouble than it was Tennyson being dangerous aroudn the box. Keep in mind Northgate smashed Alhambra 4-0@Alhambra and 4-2@ home….I think Tennyson will have difficulty with their organization in the back and if Northgate is able to finish their chances they create this game could end up 3 or 4 nothing as well.

  12. Scout Says:

Tennyson tends to make a lot of defenses look unorganized. Yes Tennyson is not very strong in the back, but they are very explosive up top.

  13. High School Sports Junkie Says:

Girls hoops score American 57 Washignton 56 even though it wasn’t important enough to put on your scoreboard and I couldn’t leave a comment there

  14. High School Sports Junkie Says:

someone try to leave a comment on the fri nite scoreboard,I cannt and dont know if it is my puter

  15. Jimmy Durkin Says:

Junkie, I just tried it out and it worked for me. I have an admin account, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s working fine and dandy for you, but it worked for me.

  16. Lancer Says:

    Tennyson 2- Northgate 1

  17. carlos padilla Says:

well i think that tennyson did their thing we the best team out there noone can stop us we have offens and deffens a 2 to 1 was a good score …..
