Below I have every final game, boys and girls, divisions 1 through 5. Picks are due by 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1. This is for all the marbles. Check out the standings below. We have quite the race going.
—————————————————————————-
Copy the list of games below, paste it in a new comment to this post. Erase the team you think is going to lose. If you don’t pick a game you will automatically lose that game. Each correct pick is worth 1 point (other rounds will be scored the same). If you want to tell us why you picked your games, feel free. If you win (any division), you will automatically be granted eternal glory.

I’m pulling for my dogg, High School Sports Junkie. I like the way you roll.
February 29th, 2008 at 2:32 am
I think DonFan still has a chance. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
February 29th, 2008 at 2:33 am
DonFan needs an upset like Lick-Wilmerding over St. Elizabeth … yep, that’s a jab.

February 29th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
HoopFan, Coleman, Junkie-
If you guys want, you can e-mail me your picks so the other guys can’t base their picks off yours.
kbonagura@bayareanewsgroup.com
I’ll post all three when I get the picks from you three via email.
If you want to go ahead and post, go for it. But I suggest emailing me.

I’m not hiding the picks, I just haven’t made up my mind yet on 2 of the games. Still, you guys are better off picking who you think will win, because if you try to go off of mine, the other guy might just ace us both out. With 3 people all within a point, it just makes it that much tougher. Not to say that Coach Brown is out of it, but he’d have to have about 7 upsets all go his way, and that still might not do it as he’d have to pass 3 people.

D-V Girls basketball:
I have faith in the Head-Royce Girls Jayhawks team when they go against Branson tomorrow. They’ve been an underdog and can surprise a lot of people with what they have accomplished so far in their season. They’ve won three championships and continue to be going strong ’til the end. They’re going all the way!!!
February 29th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
OK, here you go. No big surprises here, but I did go with two #2 seeds on the girls side, Berkeley and St. Patrick-St. Vincent. 2 teams that have been there before and should be able to handle the pressure. There should be some good games tomorrow. Enjoy!

OK I only had to change 1 pick that I had so I would have 2 different than HoopFan. I already had Hercules winning but I needed another game different so I went with Deer Valley. I don’t play for ties. So here are my official winning picks. Sure wanted to pick my hometown Newark Memorial but just couldn’t pull the trigger. But I can still root for them because if they win it won’t cost me.

Looks like Coleman has the same picks as Hoop Fan except for the Campo-Dublin boys game. So, the best he can do is tie if Dublin can pull off the upset. If Campo wins, Hoop Fan will finish 2 games ahead of him in the chase for eternal glory. If Junkie hits on both the Deer Valey and Hercules games, then he wins it outright. If one of those teams falter, then it will either be Hoop Fan or a tie with Coleman if Dublin wins. So those are the 3 “swing” games in this Pick ‘em contest. At least, that’s the way I see it at first glance. I could be wrong. We’ll let Kyle figure it all out.
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Kyle, have you totalled the results yet? Is eternal glory on the horizon?
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:47 pm
HF- I just sat down to do some blogging. I’m going to work on a quasi NorCal preview, then get to the results from the pick’em.
Is anyone interested in starting a new pick’em for NorCals? Interest seemed to fade a little bit toward the end of the NCS one.
March 4th, 2008 at 11:54 am
I would be game, but most people don’t know much about the teams outside of the NCS, so there may not be much interest. That Sacramento at Campo matchup tonight should be a good one.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Campo lost to Sacramento by 2 points. I believe it was 68-66.
March 5th, 2008 at 1:17 am
I went to it. It was actually 69-66. Campo was down more than 20 points in the 4th quarter and put on a furious rally that just fell short.
Kyle, did you tally the results of the Pick ‘Em yet?
March 5th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Kyle, what are the final results? Eternal glory is waiting.
