Thursday full of softball

We’ve got some early results, so I figured I’d update the masses on the big games of the day.
In Oakley, Freedom beat Deer Valley 1-0 in less than an hour to remain undefeated in the BVAL. Hannah Williams and Emily Allard locked up in a pitchers duel and Williams came out ahead. The only run of the game came when Kortnee Wiley tripled in Kim Westlund in the third inning. Wiley went 3-for-3 and was just generally impressive in the batter’s box. I had to double-check my watch when I left because it seemed like I had just gotten there.
In the DFAL, Concord picked up a big 7-1 win over College Park. Lea Cavestany was in the circle for the Minutemen and allowed just four hits. The Falcons committed four errors and Lauren Hasson went 3-for-4 to lead Concord offensively.
Also in the DFAL, Las Lomas picked up its biggest league win of the season so far, beating Alhambra 2-1. Guess who’s back in the picture for a high league finish? Campolindo. The Cougars finish today in third place, a half game ahead of the Bulldogs.
