Here we are again with some big football news. San Ramon Valley quarterback Joe Southwick, Times offensive player of the year in 2007, has committed to Boise State, according to Rivals.com. According to a couple reports on the internet, Southwick had a few WAC offers in hand before making his decision to join the Broncos. Once you think about it, Boise makes a lot of sense for the dual-threat QB, as he plays in a wide-open attack at San Ramon Valley. It’s a solid verbal commitment, as Southwick is only a junior at SRV.
We’ll have a full story up around the middle of the day tomorrow on contracostatimes.com so check back for more info.
Thursday update: This is confirmed now, as I spoke with Joe this morning. He’s very excited to head to the blue turf of Boise. He made his commitment Tuesday while in Boise on a visit.
