| California | 3 | 17 | 7 | 0 | 27 |
| Bellevue | 7 | 20 | 0 | 7 | 34 |
———————————————————————–
Final update:
Alright, I have some bad news. I was told by a P.R. person from the event that stats would be handled — that freed me up to do the blog. Unfortunately, his computer froze so the box score with final stats won’t be readily available. I’ll work on tracking down final stats tomorrow, but I may have to get my hands on a copy of the game film to tally it all up.
Obviously, this was a great performance by Cal. Leroy Green, Bo Stompro, Nick Zwarg and the whole offensive line really stepped up. It concludes one of the most amazing weekends of prep football that I can remember.
The live blog was a lot of fun, thanks to all of you who chimed in with your thoughts, it makes the whole thing that much better.
I’m sure we can expect more of these in the future. For those of you who came to the blog for the first time, don’t be a stranger. We’re going to continue to come with lots of prep sports info on a daily basis. The more feedback we get the better. Positive, negative or indifferent.
Big thanks to Joe Barrentine for providing some amazing photos as well.

I’m off to get quotes and write my story hopefully everyone enjoyed. -Kyle
- Ok Cal fans. Grizzlies have 2:03 and will take over from the 22 yard line. Stompro tackled for a loss at the 19. Short pass gain of 6. Long gain, but another hold is going to bring it back. Ball at the 18 yard line. Incomplete on 3rd down. Cal will have to go for it 4th and 14 from its own 15?, 46 seconds left. False start, back em up 5. Falls incomplete. Bellevue should be kneeling it and thats the game.
- Nguyen for a 9 yards on first down. Another big gain from Nguyen. 1st and 10 on the 45. No gain, 2 and 10 on the BV 45. Bellevue gains 8, big 3rd and two coming up. CLOCK UPDATED. Doesn’t look good for Cal, another decent run to the 31. BV to the 27. 2 and 10 from the 27. hold on BV brings it back to the 28 as CAL-I-FORNIA chants can be heard up here in the box. Loss on the play Bellevue will have 3rd and 23 from the 40. Bellevue brings on the punt unit as Cal called its final Time out.
- Cal at its 29. Green back in for a gain of 2 his 32nd carry of the game. Big gain for Cal is negated by a hold. 2 and 17 from the 22. Another penalty on Cal. On 2 and 22 Cal gets a big gain on a screen but another hold brings it back… Cal would of had it at the Bellevue 40. A draw gets a little bit back, but now its 3 and 18 from the 21. Big pass to John Sarmenta “The Super Sophomore” gives them a first down. Green on a draw, late hit against Bellevue will give the Grizzlies 1st and 10 at the BHS 34. Stompro keeps it for a gain of 5 to the 29. Stompro gets the ball stripped, Bellevue lands on the ball. First down for BHS at its 28. Tough break for Cal.
- Bellevue will have 2 and 1 from its own 41 to open the final quarter. Nguyen scores on the first play, from 59 yards out. Bellevue 34-27.
END OF THE THIRD
- All tied up, Bellevue has the ball at its own 32. Nguyen for 9 yards on first down.
- Cal takes over at its 36. Leroy for a big gain on first down. On 1 and 10 from the 48, Green again, it seriously takes like 5 guys to bring him down, but this time only a gain of 1. Incomplete on a deep pass to Zwarg. Stompro has a very good deep ball. Fourth and 1 now. Cal goes for it and hands to Leroy (who else) and he gets the first. First and ten at the 39. Leroy for 1. Hard count from Stompro gets Bellevue to jump, 2nd and 4. Another handoff to Green, he carries close to a first, 3&1. Go2Green get the first. Handoff up the middle to Javier gets 8. Its up the middle every play at this point now and Cal is hammering its way up the field. 1 and 10 from the 17. 2 and 8 after a 2 yard gain by Green. Green again 3rd and 3 at the 10. First down Cal (Green again). Green is hurt, he’s on the field rolling around. He’s being walked off the field (keep refreshing everybody I’m typing as fast as possible). TOUCHDOWN CAL … Stompro to Zwarg on play action.
- THIRD QUARTER UNDERWAY: Bellevue with the ball at the 30. Loss of 1. Gain of about 9. 3rd and 2. First down Bellevue to its 43. Nguyen stopped of a gain of 3. Holding on Bellevue on a short gain. Its not 2nd and 17 from the 36. QB keeper for a gain of 5. 3rd and 12.Stopped for a big loss to bring up 4th down for the first time all game… Cal with all the momentum.
- HALFTIME THOUGHTS — Cal definitely swung the momentum at the end of the half, but they still haven’t made a single stop on defense. If they can get their D together this could go either way, if they can’t figure it out, it’s going to be really tough to keep pace.
Bellevue has 364 yards rushing 0 passing. Cal has 143 rushing 131 passing.
Leroy Green with 21 carries for 125 yards.
- Cal squibs it off of the upmen for Bellevue and recovers the ball. Plus a 15 yard penalty on Bellevue. Cal has 21 seconds left and the ball at the 30 yard line. Draw on first down by Green gives them 2nd and 7 from the 27. 1 TO left, 15 seconds left. Incomplete pass. another incomplete. Cal will try a 44 yard FG…. FG is good as the half expires. Bellevue 27, Cal 20.
- Cal takes over on its 24 with 41 seconds left in the half. Green carries for a first down the the BHS 42. TOUCHDOWN CAL. Beautiful pass from Stompro to Zwarg in the endzone. 27-17.
- Bellevue muffs the kickoff and Cal pounces on him at the 7, where Bellevue will take over. Stuffed on first and 1 and 13 (penalty). Bellevue passes on 2nd (incomplete). First pass of the game. And just like that Bellevue strikes again. Hand off up the middle, untouched for 94 yards and another touchdown. Bellevue 27-10.
Cal really needs a stop here, 1:52 for Bellevue to work with….
- Cal with the ball again, fumble on the return, but Cal retains possesion. Javier for a gain of 5 on first down. First down on a pass from Stompro to Zwarg. Ball at the 43. Long pass puts Cal in Bellevue territory. +15 on a personal foul … First and 10 at the BHS 22. Green to the 16. Green again, no gain. Close to a first on another carry by Green. First down at the 12. Hold against Cal backs them up to the 20. Still first down. Incomplete pass out of the hands of Green. Another incomplete pass. 3rd and 18 from the 20. Stompro to Zwarg. TOUCHDOWN GRIZZLIES.
- Bellevue takes over at the 20. First play, Freddie Levine take the ball 74 yards. First and goal Bellevue. Time out Bellevue. Another Bellevue touchdown. It’s now Bellevue 20, Cal 3.
- Cal takes over at their 23. Green goes nowhere on 1st down. Javier gets about 6 on 2nd. Green on the draw for the first down. First and 10 at the 34. Stompro to Zwarg for a first down at the 45. Green for a gain of 2 to the 47. Stompro scrambles for a gain of 3. Time out Cal. Third and 5 is a incomplete and Cal will punt.
- 2nd down Bellevue gains 3, third down and 2 from the 10. Gain of 8 yards for Bellevue by David Nguyen. 1st and 10 from the 18. This wing-t is tricky, 38 yard gain. 1st and 10 form the 44. Cal stops them in the backfield, but a questionable spot marks it as a 1 yard loss. Gain of 12, first down Bellevue. Nguyen scores from 33 yards out, the Cal defense is having a very tough time picking up who has the ball. Kick is blocked. 13-3 Bellevue.
START OF SECOND
Sorry about the delay everyone, the internet cut out on me as soon as the game started … it had been working fine for an hour. But think were good to go from here on out.
END OF FIRST QUARTER
- Leroy Green looks really good, a 36 yard run puts Cal at the Bellevue 39. Incomplete Pass on first down, Green tackled in the backfield for a loss of 2 on second. Incomplete on third. Cal punts and Bellevue takes over after a nice punt from Stompro pins Bellevue at its own 1.
- Bellevue fumbled after a first down, Cal gets it back at their own 16.
- John Sarmenta got the kickoff for Cal, but fumbled. Bellevue ball at the 25 yard line of Cal.
OK…. I’m back there were some internet problems that arose.
- Cal went nearly the whole field on Leroy Green runs, but settled for a field goal. Bellevue just answered with a touchdown. 7-3 Bellevue, 3:57 left in the first quarter.
Alright everyone, we’re almost ready to begin. I’ve got my post up in the press box at Qwest Field and Cal and Bellevue are going through their warmups. There is barely anyone here, probably a lot of that having to do with the rainy weather here in Seattle. Once the game begins, I will update the time and stats as frequently as possible. But the main focus will be on giving drive recaps and game observations.
Couple of background notes:
* When De La Salle was here in 2004, the Spartans’ quarterback was Kevin Lopina. He is now the starter at Washington State. Bellevue’s starter in that game was a sophomore named Eric Block. Block is now a redshirt freshman saftey for the Cougars as well. Today they played against Portland State which featured Mario D’Ambrosio at reciever, who was also on that DLS team. D’Ambrosio is from San Ramon.

September 20th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Make sure to bring home some floating golf balls from the range. They are clutch when you are playing a water hole and want to try to carry it. I used to have like 15 in my bag. Key words, used to.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Thanks for everything Kyle. I am so glad you are there to keep us in the know.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
I don’t hit balls in the water, you should realize that… I will try and bring you home a mini-floating green!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Just dawned on me… you Wazzu days… probably been there before!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:26 pm

joe needs to go bak to farming hair and gtfo..
September 20th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Not a hater, just think Cal’s overrated. What have they had, like one good season in the school’s history and now everyone thinks they’re one of the best teams in the area?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
GO GRIZZ!!!!
Got2go are u a bellvue fan, or what high school do you rep in the bay area?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
well seeing as how our head coached turned one of the worst programs around into one of the best in the area i say ya were pretty good
September 20th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Noticed that too…no mention of Reggie. Is he not playing OFF?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
so what they rock and yes they are contending with this team that beat de la salle so they are good. las lomas, monte vista, logan, pitt, their wins are good wins over traditional power teams. and in NCS that equals the trip to the coliseum like last year
September 20th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
i dont think they have reggie playing running bak
maybe with leroy hurt wel c him
September 20th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Got2go… The made the NCS finals last year. They easily beat Las Lomas, last year’s 2A champion. They are now tied with a perennial national power going into the 4th quarter. Just exactly what do you need to say that they are a good team?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
hello – one good season does not a dynasty make. You’ve won 1/2 of a league title – ever. Talk some trash after you’ve won more than that.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
got2go your a hater just leave this blog if u dont like cal its that simple
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
well i will. but we’re in the process. ever heard of that? yes we’ve never beaten srv or dls under sanchez but considering everbody else, we’ve turned it around. so get off MEH. lemme see ya show yo grizzzzzzzzzzface
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Status on Leroy, Kyle?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Got2go, what school do you represent !!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Kyle-
This is great stuff…it sounds like the Grizzlies came to play…thanks for the updates and keep em comming
Go Grizzlies!!!
Cary
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
go2… No one is talking trash here but you… I will never understand why someone comes on to a web site only to stir up nonsense…
September 20th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
and we’ve made it to an NCS title in our first appearance so we hot. and yeah stop hatin
September 20th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Are you guys able to listen to the game on the radio or something?? Is it on tv?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
gonna need some 2 point conversions to win this thing if we keep the pace up lol
and forget that guy lets enjoy this game and blog. thanks kyle
September 20th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
I have a right to my opinion, and my opinion is that Cal is overrated. Not nonsense, just my opinion. Just like some people in here think Cal is great.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Go Leroy!!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
go2 just GTFO
September 20th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
damn they must have at least 500 yards rushing against us…
September 20th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
This is amazing!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
And you feel the need to downgrade their opinions on this blog, why? They support CHS because many of the people in here GO TO THE SCHOOL… what else are they going to think?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
What a game. I’ll tell you, if DLS had lost and if Cal finds a way to win this, I think we would’ve definitely had to move Cal up to No. 1 in the poll. Regardless of the outcome here, I won’t budge the Grizzlies from the No. 2 spot in my poll.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Thank you Epcthree
September 20th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
everybody always thinks somebodys overrated. well they can run their mouth but what matters is NCS. when seasons over they look back and see how wrong they were. nobody needs negative bias in the first place
September 20th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
thanks for the updates kyle
I really appreciate you doing this
it’s seriously bumming that they aren’t showing the game on t.v
September 20th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
yeah saramenta !!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
We’re gonna need to make like the Broncos last weekend……score late and make a 2 point conversion!!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
thank god green is back in
GO GRIZZLIES!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Who would of known! never expected it to be such a close game!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Wow epcthree, you’re such a gentleman. Too bad this is a free country and everyone is entitled to their opinion, which I guess you don’t support. I didn’t talk trash, didn’t curse, didn’t say people on here didn’t know what they were talking about, I just said Cal was overrated and that they should wait until they have a good team for several years before saying they are one of the best programs in the bay area.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Way to go Peter N! Bellevue scores again!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
sarmenta=my hero
September 20th, 2008 at 9:59 pm

September 20th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
got2go
u mad?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
got2 – And you did it on what is essentially a CHS blog. Why come in here and downgrade the kids? You’re right, you have a right to your opinion. And my opinion is that you came in here to stir up trouble. That’s fine. No need to get jacked up when you get called on it.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
how much time is left?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
hey kyle can we get a clock update
September 20th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
thanks. hope they get a defensive stop right about nowww
September 20th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
people. just get over got2go. chances are most of you think another team is overrated as well. it’s just his opinion. just have pride in your team and enjoy the game ok?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
Im impressed.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
got2go you never answered the question! who you represent, what high school, what up little dog? Are you embarresed!!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:04 pm

September 20th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I say go for two….lot of holding penalties…little bias on the refs part?!?!?!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Country Boy – Yes on a 2 pt if they get there… in OT the won’t be able to stop Bellevue
September 20th, 2008 at 10:13 pm

September 20th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
got2 – wow can u maybe use ur small little brain to maybe think figuratively instead of literally?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
they’re gonna need a joe southwick type play here..
September 20th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Anthony – I agree with you – our streak does not compare to La Salle, it’s harder to play on the road (but I have to think we’d accept ANY challenges or invitations) and we have not been dominant the last two years.
I also agree with your last statement – you are acting like a hater!
Go Bellevue! Send em back to Cali with some Love and a big L!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
GLan and Got2Go.. SHUT UP! If you aren’t here for the game then leave.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Are we going to score AGAIN? Go Wolverines!

It’s gonna be a 34-27 final. Kyle has to leave his computer to go talk to players to get quotes to write his story for the paper.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
there it is. anyway good game. scared the hell out of them ahaha wolverines r overated?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Thanks for the great blogging Kyle! And thanks to CA (and their fans) who did not give up and appear to have played a very tough game on the road and in the rain.
I hope you win your conference!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Great effort by the kids… Plenty to be proud of; staying in with a team most thought were going to beat them by more than a single score.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
scoreboard – again Cal=overrated
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
What a great game….they really kept up!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
CalRep – dont tell me to shut up. If i werent here for the game y the fuck would i be here?

September 20th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Yes, we enjoyed your live coverage – Thanks, Kyle!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Joe “TheHairFarmer.Com” Kennedy,
De La Salle is in Cal’s league now so it’s going to be a tough fight. But after this and with the way DLS has played it’s first two games, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cal hangs with the Spartans and possibly beats them.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
Great game CAL!!You showed aLot of heart.Coaches you have a good and solid core of young men .Thanks Kyle you are great.GO Cal Lets Get the Next one!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
I agree with Jimmy! Let’s beat DLS!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Got2… How can they be overrated losing a game that EVERYONE predicted they were going to lose? Interestingly enough they lost by far less than most predicted, so I guess that makes them UNDERRATED…
September 20th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
great coverage kyle thanks.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Jimmy, do a little research. DLS starts slow in most years but has things rolling by the end of the year. I think Cal plays them towards the end of the EBAL season, so it won’t be close.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
next up. san leandro high lol
September 20th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
in fact i wouldnt be surprised if srv beat them at srv the week before cal plays them at home the last game of the season.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
I’m extremely proud of those Grizzlies! Now you know you can play with the big boys. De Lasalle, take notice.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
epc3, I guess we’ll see in the next few weeks. Cal will lose 3 of 4 to MV, SRV, DLS and Foothill this year.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Not saying DLS won’t win, and I hadn’t looked at the schedule to see when they play each other (just did now, it’s the last game of the season on Nov. 14), but my point is just that I think Cal actually could have a chance to stay close. And as for DLS starting slow, look at last year. They beat Serra 40-22 in a game not as close as the score indicated, then beat Loyola 55-14 and Palma 55-0. That’s a pretty fast start if you ask me. They’ve now just squeaked by in games this year against those first two opponents.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Got2… And they might. But you can bet I won’t be logging into a MV, SRV, DLS or Foothill web site typing in how “overrated” those teams are…
September 20th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
ha ha….I have an impostor posting under my name (see Comment 163).
September 20th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
epc3 – Why not, if you feel they are?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
got2go, shut the hell up!!! Cal is gonna go 9-1 this year mark my word, De LaSalle has looked real sluggish in these first two games and they play MV SRV Foothill and end the season with Cal, there gonna be tired and Cal will win by a touchdown. By the way tell us what school you rep, you scared little bitch.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
John – you’re a funny little young man
September 20th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Got2go, let’s get a real discussion here. Lay out your points as to why Cal is overrated. If you think they are, you must have reasons. If anything, this game proved they were appropriately ranked No. 2 in our poll in my opinion. But if you think they are overrated, convince me.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Got2.. Because I don’t get a thrill out of antagonizing people intentionally. As a coach, I teach my kids to NEVER talk poorly about an opponent. It’s simply poor sportsmanship.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
you still haven’t told us what school you rep, cuz you know Cal will scrape them, Grizzly Nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
epc3 – no, you get a thrill out of playing the holier than thou card. Aren’t you so high and mighty that you can judge others just for stating an opinion.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
he probably goes to like Livermore
September 20th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
but we have to beat dls and srv first to finish the season with one loss. and if srv gets going playing them at home will be hard. our last win against them came in 2003. calpreps.com
and btw dls doesnt get tired they get better but won’t finish undefeated against that team from NJ.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
uh its called respect buddy. get some.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:41 pm
Jimmy, Here are my points. 1. Cal beat a school almost 1/2 their size in Las Lomas. Granted LL is a good football school so I agree that was a good win. Then a loss to Bellevue which is untested so far against quality competition so they are in my opinion an unknown quantity. If Cal beats San Leandro handily after SRV barely beat them yesterday, then I may think Cal has a good team this year. So far they are being ranked by last year’s team.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Don Bosco the NJ team lost last week btw
September 20th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Got2… you STILL don’t get it. I’m not so worried about your opinion. It’s no better or worse than my own. What I said was, THIS was NOT the proper place to voice it. You came in here, knowing full well that you would get a reaction, and that’s why you posted what you did. Congrats, you can be happy now.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
have faith, SRV has southwick and thats it, Cal is a much more complete team then they are, I still think SRV is a great team, but Cal will pull through, GO GRIZZ!!!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
have faith, SRV has southwick and thats it, Cal is a much more complete team then they are, I still think SRV is a great team, but Cal will pull it out and win
September 20th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
epc3 – once again the self-righteous tone. If indeed you are a coach and not just claiming to be, do you teach them that too?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
epc – by the way, of course an open forum is the proper and appropriate place to voice an opinion!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
johns a believer. but im convinced after their competition tonight. and forget about dls for now itd be cool to be the ones to beat them but for now we need all grizzlies to be true grizzlies like him. grizz is what it is
September 20th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Got2 – it’s the written word. There is no “tone” involved. As I am typing, I’m not angry or upset. All I’m trying to point out to you (which you conveniently avoid responding to) was that this was not a place to come in, drop a comment like that, and then be surprised that it gets a negative reaction. This was a play-by-play blog. No one asked for your (or my) opinion as to if CHS is overrated. Sorry, if you are upset by that.
And as to my kids, I teach them to play hard, within the rules and then, win or lose at the end of the game, show respect to their opponents and their fans and families. Period.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:50 pm
got2go, What do you mean Bellevue hasn’t been tested. They beat one of Oregon’s best teams in Central Catholic and they beat Washington power Bothell who is coming off a 13-1 season last year. Untested? I think not
September 20th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
Got2go, I’ll respect that. What you have to consider is that Cal had a great year last year, came back and schedule a tough nonleague (while also playing in the area’s toughest league) and so far, have impressed. The Lomas win was a good one — as you concede — considering all reports were that they didn’t play well. You might say Bellevue is untested, but for a team like Cal to travel and face a team that’s been a powerhouse for several years now on the road and fight like this, shows they have some talent. I agree next week against San Leandro will help gauge between Cal and San Ramon Valley, but we all know all these arguments will be settled in EBAL play where there’s almost no such thing as an upset.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
Got2 – it wasn’t a FORUM (that’s elsewhere on this website – and I’ve already responded to your post there), this was a play-by-play blog. Ostensibly for people rooting for CHS. If you don’t get the difference, I suppose there’s not much I can do to clue you in. It is what it is.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
LIBERTY (BRENTWOOD) FOOTBALL RULES!!!!!!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:51 pm
amen.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
HAHA JUST PUTTING A LITTLE GOOD LAUGHS IN FOR YOU ALL- just to tone it down a bit…..
September 20th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
epc3 – again, yes this is an appropriate place to voice an opinion. You may not like it or agree with it, but it is certainly appropriate. If not they wouldn’t create a space on this blog for comments.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Well… We can agree to disagree.
Keep on telling these CHS students and fans (whose only sin is caring about their team and supporting them) just how bad (or overrated) their team is. If it makes you feel better for doing so, more power to you I suppose.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
Signing off for the night. It’s been fun. Keep an eye on http://www.insidebayarea.com/high-school-sports and I’m sure Kyle’s story should be posted in the next hour or so, if not earlier.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
got2go i understand that in your opinion you think Cal is overrated and that’s fine, but why do feel the need to post it and continue to bad mouth Cal. You need a lesson on class dude!!
September 20th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
epc3 – it’s funny to see how you try to hide your opinions behind defending the “CHS student and fans”. First of all, they can all handle themselves and don’t need you to stick up for them. Secondly, you stated your opinion and I mine. Just don’t tell me I don’t have a right to give it in this area.
September 20th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Got2… Sigh… Show me where I said you didn’t have a “right” to post it here. My OPINION is that this was a play-by-play blog and you posted what you did to get a reaction. You got a reaction (I’m sure the one you were hoping for). My OPINION is that this was an inappropriate place to do so. Is there a law against it? No. Is my opinion more valuable than yours? No. Good lord man, get over it. You got called out. Sorry it’s upset you so…
September 20th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
epc3 – uh, here’s your quote
Epcthree Says:
September 20th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Got2… you STILL don’t get it. I’m not so worried about your opinion. It’s no better or worse than my own. What I said was, THIS was NOT the proper place to voice it. You came in here, knowing full well that you would get a reaction, and that’s why you posted what you did. Congrats, you can be happy now.
Telling me in capital letters that this isn’t the proper place to voice my opinion is the same as questioning my right to do so.
September 20th, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Thanks for the live blog Kyle, very cool of you to take the time to relay the play-by-play back to San Ramon. Wish the news was better but they went on the road and played the best team in WA real tough.
Mulholland
September 21st, 2008 at 1:20 am
got2 – No, actually it’s NOT the same thing. It was, again, a voicing of my opinion. Period. Again… get over it. You got the reaction you wanted; you’ve not posted any comment saying that you didn’t. Good for you.
September 21st, 2008 at 9:18 am
27-32
F*** bellevue high school man. how is that possibly happen???
September 21st, 2008 at 11:59 am
epc3 – sorry, you’re wrong. Any open forum that isn’t monitored is fair game to anyone who has an opinion. Bottom line is that you didn’t agree with me and you chose to criticize me for stating it here when that’s exactly what the comments here are for. They don’t create a comments area on this page just so supporters of the team they are reporting on can say “great job” “Go cal!” “They’re gonna win it!” Grow up and realize that it’s not your job or responsibility to “protect” everyone in the world against other’s opinions. Last time I checked you weren’t the moderator for this area. If what I said was so offensive, I doubt those in charge of this area would allow it to be printed.
September 21st, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Cal was very impressive on offense. Stompro throws a great deep ball, and Green is a horse. I would be looking for a good season for Cal. As far as referee bias go, Bellevue had well over 100 yards in penalties, so I would say it was a wash. If Bellevue is to go far in the playoffs this year, they will have to ‘grow up’ and reduce the penalties, according to their coach. Weather was not a factor, it had stopped raining by game time, and Qwest Field is Field Turf. Bellevue’s Wing-T is tough, teams seeing for the first time are something like 2-18 since the current coach started there.
September 21st, 2008 at 5:32 pm
Go2… No, actually, I’m not wrong. Just like you, I voiced my OPINION. I’ve never once said your opinion was right or wrong. All I said was that the only reason you voiced it here in this blog, was to try to get a reaction. My OPINION is that it was a childish and sad thing to do. Your attempt to alter the point is not making it. You wanted to make your little quip and get people riled up. You succeeded. Be Happy.
September 21st, 2008 at 8:20 pm
epc3 – actually you ARE wrong. Go back and read what you’ve repeatedly said to me about posting comments in this area. That’s not an opinion, you’re telling me I shouldn’t be making comments here if I choose to say that Cal is overrated. Am I supposed to make that claim in the news or weather chat areas? Of course this is the proper area to make those assertions. But in your world, only you are allowed to decide what is proper or inappropriate I guess. Must be nice to be the governing body of everything.
September 21st, 2008 at 10:03 pm
Got2 – I’m done. You are either too thick to get it, or simply just in need to up your dosage. There are forums on this site (you posted to one) where this kind of debate often takes place. If you don’t like the fact that I felt that this blog was an inappropriate place to make a comment like you did and that I feel you only did so only to get a reaction; well, too bad. You are correct in that you can make your childish and antagonistic comments where ever you’d like. Here is where you choose to do so. Great. It just makes it more clear that you did so, not because you necessarily believe it, but that you thought it would be fun in some infantile way. Like I said earlier, enjoy! I’m sure there will be another play-by-play blog next week where you can tell another school’s fans how bad their team is. Knock yourself out! And remember… the above is only an OPINION, no better or worse than your own.
September 21st, 2008 at 11:16 pm
epc3 – how noble of you. By the way, I noticed on the SRV-SL blog that a couple of people made the comment that SRV was overrated. Too bad you weren’t there to protect the poor, defenseless fans of SRV who may have been scarred beyond repair by that allegation.
September 22nd, 2008 at 7:45 am
Go2…
Brilliant retort (yet again)…
And yes, it is too bad I wasn’t on that blog. I would have pointed out how immature and childish a post like that was there as well.
Have a fantastic week!
September 22nd, 2008 at 1:42 pm
epc3 – well I guess you weren’t done after all. There’s no rest for the self-righteous and all knowing.
September 22nd, 2008 at 2:51 pm
And for the incredibly stupid it would seem…
And, no not self righteous – just like to point out when people are rude. It bother’s them so
Don’t worry, you’ll figure it out one day. Not soon I’m sure, but some day… Okay maybe…
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:09 pm
And maybe someday you’ll see how incredibly patronizing you are. Or maybe not, people like you generally never figure it out.
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:10 pm
By the way, it’s funny how you continue to post here after stating that you were done with this conversation. I guess you feel you have to convince yourself of your point since you certainly haven’t convinced me.
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Nope… I just enjoy the fact that you’re proving my point… over and over and over and over………..
And am I patronizing you? Oh you betcha. Frankly, I’m surprised you were able to figure it out! Good job Stevie!!!
September 22nd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
So you’re either a sadist or just not able to figure out that I’m outwitting you. I’m guessing a little of both.
