CV fan,

I have no ties with any school. From what I've seen from Freedom's QB and what I've seen from Tennyson's QB, Carmona is so much more talented than Rodriguez and he threw for 300 yards. For the HAAL sake, I really hope that CV beats MV but that is like Oregon St beating USC tonight.

I was staying away from it, but since I just saw Castro Valley last week against Berkeley I figured I might as well chime in. CV Fan #25, 42-20? I like you supporting your team but be a little realistic and say something like 21-17 (also just 17 points from Monte Vista isn't very realistic). After seeing CV score six against Berkeley, there's no way they are capable of putting up 42 on anybody, no less Monte Vista. Berkeley's a good defensive team, but they have some holes that can be exploited. CV doesn't have the fire power to put up 42 in a game, especially against a good opponent. Granted, Monte Vista isn't a team known for its defense, but I still don't see any possible way they allow 42 to CV. Sorry.

By the way UC fan #11, "Tennyson will shred CV's secondary"? Give me a break! We are much more talented than Mission San Jose! Last year, We underestimated Tennyson, they will not be so lucky this time. That's why they call it an upset because it was a farce. It never should have happened!

CV fan,

Every team knows and thinks what they can do. However it's what you actually do on the field. CV has scored 6 points against a good defense in Berkeley and 12 against a so-so defense in Freedom. What makes you think you can score 27 against MV. If Freedom can throw for 300 yards against your D, just imagine what MV will do. CV has not been consistent on offense or defense. What makes you think they can turn that around against a team like MV.

I'd expect Encinal to continue to gradually move up, probably peak around 7 or 8. I agree they have the potential to run the table and the only thing that hurts them is they won't face a ranked opponent until the playoffs. That's not necessarily their fault -- they were put in a new league and in the nonleague schedule they wanted to maintain some traditional rivalries. The St. Pat's game on Oct. 31 is their biggest test and will help them but I'd expect, if they go 10-0, to see them around the 7 spot, maybe 6. If they ran the table in the playoffs, then you'd definitely see them go top 5.

How high can Encinal go? It's a long season, but they have a realistic shot at running the table during the regular season.
