I’m sure many of you will be looking to watch Saturday night’s game between No. 1 De La Salle and New Jersey powerhouse Don Bosco. Game time is 7:30 p.m. However, with information straight from DLS beat writer Chace Bryson, the game will be televised on ESPN U — a channel not offered by Comcast although it is available on Astound, a smaller cable company in the Concord area.
Here is the rundown from Chace on where this game will be available on TV.
COMCAST: Not available
ASTOUND: Channel 510 (though it’s not on the basic offering)
DIRECT TV: Channel 609 (but you must have the ”premier package”)
DISH NETWORK: Channel 148
Talk about lunacy? Why would ESPN come in and televise and game on a station that most people that area do not have. My guess is this is because it’s a Saturday game. Had it been moved to a Thursday game — when ESPN has less programming — it probably could’ve been on ESPN 2. It’s not a complete loss for those who want to watch or follow the game though. The game will be on the radio on KYCY 1550 AM and simulcast on the Web at KBCSports.com.

IT IS SO GOOD TO HAVE KYLE BACK. CONGRATULATIONS ON HIS NEW ASSIGNMENT. WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT STEVE WATERHOUSE STILL COVERS THE HIGH SCHOOL SCENE IN FREMONT. WE HAD A DOUBLE WHAMMY WITH STEVE AND KYLE BUT KNOW THAT STEVE WILL DO HIS USUAL GOOD JOB OF HUSTLING ALL OVER THE LANDSCAPE. YOU WILL BE MISSED KYLE BUT KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A VERY GOOD AREA OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.
