Is Dougherty Valley eligible for the playoffs this year?

I thought Cardinal Newman was in Division III. There enrollment is 866? Can you verify that?

Kyle, Tell me about Analy… how did the voters find this school?

Can’t wait for that Dougherty Valley at Ferndale game — that’s got Kyle written all over it…

That’s just wrong we were dropped from 2 to 3 this week… We will be back.

Jsmiley,
Cardinal Newman has petitioned up to NCS Division II playoffs. That’s why we moved them to D II in our rankings.
Lb050nit,
I’ll answer for Kyle about how we found Analy. We look at any schools in NCS in those divisions with solid records and see if they are poll worthy. There were 5-0 after last week when they first cracked the poll, including a win over previously unbeaten Healdsberg, a team that has beaten a WCAL foe in Riordan. Analy did just fall last week to fellow D-III squad El Molino, which would’ve warranted consideration excect El Molino is only 3-3 on the year. That’s why I actually threw my fifth-place vote to the folks at Kennedy-Richmond.

Unfortunately Bay’s Finest, this is an NCS poll to give people an idea of who are the top teams in the respective NCS divisions (and who might contend for those NCS titles). Since the OAL is separate, the teams are not considered for this poll. Oakland High is in the others receiving votes category of our East Bay Super Poll though.

Could this be the last year for public HS sports? State is broke, big changes coming. If they raise my taxes then they better cut something and this looks like a good place to start. Maybe the private schools could play with each other as those that have 15k to send their kids there should not be feeling any pain. Let the parents fund the full cost of the sporting season at the school. Wonder how many subs will hang around on the sidelines for that ride? Would not want to be the coach that only let the chosen few play then.
