Encinal-Kennedy thoughts

OK, I have to keep this short but sweet seeing how I’ve come down with some kind of major cold (I’m sure that weather at Encinal didn’t help).
Kennedy played horrible. Encinal came out and punched ‘em in the mouth and Kennedy had no answer. Fantastic job by QB Jonathan Brown. 204 yards passing, 5 TDs …. heck of an effort! Great job on defense holding down Walker and Dismuke.
Anyway, got my NyQuil and crashing out. I hope to feel well enough tomorrow to jump on the blog.
Congrats Encinal! Dominated from start to finish.

Guru…. nice way to show that you can win with class (sarcasm). The Encinal players proved that they were the superior team tonight, but I don’t think, you saw the real Titans. Dismuke was injured, but played anyway even though his effectiveness was diminished. Even at full strength though, I don’t think we had the manpower to stay with the Jets. Your team speed was something we could not keep up with.
Now…. I have to say something about some of the other things that happened tonight. First of all, it was extremely bush league when your announcer played the theme from Benny Hill when the Titans returned to the field after halftime. I have been the game announcer for Kennedy for the last 7 years, and I never dreamed of disrepecting an opposing team in such a manner. It was a low class move. Next, the officiating was horrendous, not that we would have won, but there was a lot going on out there that didn’t get called. The reason that the two players were ejected was because the officials allowed the situation to escalate to that level instead of getting control of it.
Anyway, congrats to the Jets… you deserved to win.
November 29th, 2008 at 12:29 am
jimgp20 my problem with u guys was that if u where playin novato u guys wat have said we need 2 play mistake free football 2 win. but all u said was we played a weak schedule. walker was scared all night & u know it. dismuke if he was hurt he should have not played. dismuke was in during the 4th pick’n up garbage yards y was he in it was a blowout thought he was hurt?
November 29th, 2008 at 12:35 am
Well…. we will see next week how your boys do against a quality opponent. We were obviously not a quality opponent tonight. I still maintain, though, that if we would have played Encinal’s schedule, we could have had at least an 8 win season, although we would not have blown teams out like the Jets did. Even the sportwriters said that the Jets played a weak schedule… it wasn’t just JFK fans.
November 29th, 2008 at 6:47 am
jimgp20 sounds like your making excuses for an old fashioned A** kicking. I will give you one prop the refs did blow one call on a Jet TD so what??? the score would have been 49-8. All teams come in saying they shoulda woulda but???? No one respects our OL or our team speed and thats that
November 29th, 2008 at 7:04 am
To JimGP20: I kinda agree with you on the Benny Hill stuff but it was just to entertain the crowd But Kennedy Players were Hitting after the whistle all night long and we both know why. Frustration will do that to a kid. They were also talking to our guys all game long too. Yes the refs could’ve did a better job keeping order but lets not talk about anyone playing hurt. We had guys on both sides playing hurt And Dismuke looked ok to me. If he’s couldn’t play at 100% he should’ve sat out. Lastly. Forget about that weak schedule stuff,Because we beat you guys pretty good right? So what does that schedule have to do with JFK? I think we made our point last night. Give credit where it is due please.
November 29th, 2008 at 9:06 am
jimgp20 all the sudden jfk is not a quality opponent. then y where talkin all week? the game was over in the first quarter instead of being mad at pa announcer u should be mad at coach mike his game plan was terrible. did he really think walker could out run us? he put his corners on an island?
November 29th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Guru-Black tell me this. Dismuke is a senior. his last game of his high school career. why WOULDN’T he play in that. what he did earned my respect, he played through the pain. WALKER was not scared to run you cant scare him he loves contact. JFK played a horrible game. yes Encinal dominated. but i know that was not our best effort. one of the worst efforts we have played with….o and fyi how many passes did they actually complete on our starting corners? one. a slant. 21 and 24 did a good job of shutting down. most passes were to the seam while either a backer or safety covered them. and there was that 50 yard screen play……anyway get after who ever you play next week.
November 29th, 2008 at 10:21 am
Guru he put his corners on fantasy Island LOL thinking they could match the size or speed of the Jetss receiving core man on man LOL. Also if the JFK coach is so great why did it take 40 YEARS TO ADVANCE TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS. You guys might want to tell him there is a new thing in football called the forward pass
November 29th, 2008 at 10:27 am
The overall team speed in the BSAL is second to no other league, except the OAL in the bay area. People who claim otherwise, have no idea what they are talking about.
Give the Jets plenty of credit and they will reach the finals vs. Novato (probably). And, the Jets will win that game too on a nuetral field vs. Novato. Folks whine about the Jets easy schedule, with the toughest teams being Monterey and Piedmont – both playoff teams. However, Monterey is solid, and Fortuna caught Piedmont on a very off night.
Encinal is by far the most talented team in Division III with plenty of division I or Iaa level players throughout their lineup.
Prediction for Division III Title Game:
Encinal 40
Novato 17

Guru, please help get us the scores to the MC ODowd game, you going?
November 29th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
BSAL Def Coord I am on my way to the game so I need to keep this short. You need to give Novato the respect they deserve. They are the 2 time NCS section champs and won the 2A Redwood Empire in 2005. They have only let 1 team score 40 or more points on them in the last 5 years(check cal preps) that was Foothill this year. I can say with out a doubt the EBAL is by far the best and fastest league North of San Jose until the Jets play someone of a high rating and win you should be a little more humble. Do your home work and worry about MC or BOD before you start knocking the defending champs, make you sound just like the JFK crew.
November 29th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
jfktitan check the film and u tell me if walker was runnin hard?
November 29th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Unfortunately, Novato fan…dbl check your stats. MC’s Jono Grayson ran all over Novato the year that Novato redeemed them self to beat MC in the final for 2005 NCS 2A RE. It was an off day, I remember it well. I also rember the nite That they dominated to win the championship 33-14.
Heck of a game today..Miramonte next week at home…Go Hornets!!!
November 29th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
There is not any disrespect intended for Novato, great program they have all the way around.
However, once in a while a team just has all of the pieces, and that team is Encinal.
Speed never has a bad night, and Encinal will win it all this year in the title game vs. Novato.
BSAL Def Cord.
November 29th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
I find its usually best to play one game at a time, and focus on your next opponent before predicting victories in theoretical matchups, but thats just me. this also echoes Novato’s approach. I wouldn’t confuse MC with JFK. completely different level. not that your prediction won’t come true, but arrogance has a way of biting back, especially when you completely dismiss your next opponent as a mere afterthought.
November 29th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
Encinal killed Kennedy! It was like watching a grown man beat up a baby. Kenndey had NO CHANCE. I can’t believe how sorry some of these Kennedy fans sound on here. Complaining about the Benny Hill music as JFK ran onto the field? I guess anything but the game itself would be of concern, since Encinal dominated the game from the start.
I love the excuses: Dismuke was hurt(carried the ball 18 times). The lights were too bright. The refs sucked. The coach messd up. Encinal Cheated. Whine, whine, whine….just go home, shut up and be proud of your .500 record it will be another 40 years before you set foot in the NCS playoffs again.
November 29th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
someone was napping during the “act like you’ve been there before” lesson….
November 29th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
BSAL Def Coord First I stand corrected by Mr Buzz Lightbeer after double checking cal preps he is correct Novato also had 40 scored on them in 2005. While I was rechecking the stats I went all the way back to 2001 (the furthest cal preps goes back) and after review I could not find another team in 8 seasons that scored 40 so …….In 8 seasons only two teams scored 40 points and you project 40 I dont think so. I also must agree with Buzz’s observation about over looking your next game against MC. They are not the 6 and 5 JFK Titans and they have twice the rating of the highest rated team you guys have played(Monterey rating 13) and you only beat them by 6. So before you go projecting a 23 point win in a game you have not reached yet I think you might want to worry about MC. Speed is not everything you have played a powder puff schedule you are now about to move up to real football. Speed is not the only thing that wins games ask BOD.

Prep football playoffs: Marin Catholic applies hammer in NCS win
Dave Albee
Posted: 11/29/2008 07:19:44 PM PST
- The game plan for Ken Peralta’s Marin Catholic football team against Bishop O’Dowd High on Saturday afternoon was complex yet simple. His offense needed to be his best defense against the explosive Dragons.
It worked to perfection, especially in the first half. The Wildcats scored touchdowns on their first four possessions and the running of Jack Duysen and Nico Dumont allowed MC to control the ball and the pace of the game that negated the Dragons’ speed and size advantage. Duysen rushed for a team-high 131 yards and eight first downs and Dumont tied the school record with five TDs as the fifth-seeded Wildcats beat fourth-seeded and mistake-prone Bishop O’Dowd (10-1) 42-27 in a North Coast Section Division III quarterfinal game.
The victory sends MC (9-3) to Alameda on Friday night to play top-seeded and undefeated Encinal (12-0), which beat Kennedy of Fremont 56-8 Friday and has outscored its last five foes 312-48.
Peralta may unfurl the same game plan for Encinal that he used for Bishop O’Dowd.
“Next week is going to be a shootout. They can score. We can score. It’ll be a lot of fun,” the MC coach said. “We’ve got to make sure we have the ball.”
The opportunistic Wildcats defense helped their offense get it by creating two crucial turnovers in the first half. Sean Pearson recovered one fumble and Anthony Popovich forced another and the MC offense converted those Dragon miscues in their own end of the field into touchdowns. Yet, the Wildcats also
repeatedly drove the length of the field against the BOD defense. Dumont capped an eight-play, 80-yard scoring drive with his first TD run, scored his fourth TD to top a 76-yard drive with 4:38 left in the first half and sealed an 11-play, 73-yard drive with his fifth TD with 2:29 left in the third quarter, tying MC’s single-game record last set by running back Kahlil Bell, who went on to start at UCLA, in 2004.
“Nico’s a special guy. He’s a quiet leader on our team and he’s peaking at the
Marin Catholic’s running back Nico Dumont (22) celebrates a touchdown against Bishop O’Dowd in the first quarter of a North Coast Section Division III second round game at Bishop O’Dowd football field in Oakland, Calif., Saturday Nov. 29, 2008. Marin Catholic finished the first half with a partial victory of 28-0 over O’Dowd. (Media News Group photo/Ray Chavez)right time,” Peralta said. “We wanted him strong for the playoffs. It’s really a good thing.”
It was too much of a good thing for O’Dowd. While the Dragons running tandem of tailback Mario Brown and fullback Che’rod Simpson, a pair of 1,000-yard rushers this season, was more heralded coming into the game, the Wildcats packed a 1-2 punch in Dumont and Duysen, who both rushed for over 100 yards in the game. Brown had a game-high 192 yards on 22 carries but MC’s defense knocked him and Simpson out of the game on consecutive plays in the fourth quarter when the Wildcats had a 42-14 lead after Chris Adams’ 26-yard TD run.
The dynamic duo of Dumont and Duysen had 252 of MC’s 313 rushing yards but they both said they had no extra incentive to outplay Brown and Simpson, who were running behind an offensive line that included three 300-pounders and two all-league performers.
“We just focused on ourselves,” Duysen said.
“We just tried to play our game and we did,” Dumont said.
With a lot of help from their teammates.
“It’s all about the (offensive) line,” Duysen said.
“The line takes all the pressure off me and all our backs,” Dumont said.
They took time off the clock, too. The combination of Marin Catholic’s deep and talented running corps, quarterback Nate Kristoff’s timely passing and Nick Wagner’s deep kickoffs (he booted three in a row into the end zone in the first half) didn’t give the Dragons’ offense much time or room to mount a comeback. In the end, the Wildcats had more weapons and served notice to Encinal and anyone else.
“I think there’s a couple of things (for other teams ) to worry about us,” Peralta said.

Prep football playoffs: Novato dominates Fortuna 52-7 in NCS quarterfinals
Dave Curtis
Posted: 11/29/2008 06:19:45 PM PST
Click photo to enlargeFortuna’s Tyler Moody is swarmed by Novato defenders during the first… (IJ photo/Jeff Vendsel)«1234»It was a long bus ride to Novato for the Fortuna High football team. The host Hornets made sure the trip back north felt even longer for the Huskies.
Despite what coach Travis Brackett considered an imperfect effort, third-seeded Novato was simply too much for 11th-seeded Fortuna in the second round of the North Coast Section Division III playoffs. Despite a few costly mistakes, Novato still posted a 52-7 victory.
“I still believe they are the No. 1 team in the section,” Fortuna coach Mike Benbow said of the Hornets (10-2), who will host second-seeded Miramonte in the semifinals next Saturday. “They’re by far the best defense we’ve seen. They dominated our offensive line.”
Novato might have pitched a shutout were it not for one of
the errors that disturbed Brackett, a fumbled snap that set up the Huskies at the Novato 15-yard line in the second quarter that was one of two turnovers deep in Novato territory. Fortuna (7-5) needed just one play to take advantage of the Hornets’ mistake, with Bryce Lowry bursting up the middle for a touchdown that trimmed Novato’s lead to 14-7.
But Novato’s grip on momentum was not even loosened by the play. Fortuna tried to deny the Hornets a long kickoff return afterward by poking the football toward the sideline, but two consecutive kicks went out of bounds. Novato eschewed the favorable field position the penalty allowed them and instead had Fortuna re-kick after a 5-yard penalty.
That strategy paid off when Benbow opted to send
the third kickoff down the middle. Novato’s Kyle Campas – who still is trying to live down the mild embarrassment of a 96-yard return on which he was tackled at the 1-yard line last season – fielded the ball at the 22, surged up the middle, and then burst down the right sideline for a 78-yard score.
“We want to let our athletes make plays,” Brackett said of his strategy. “Kyle’s a hell of a player. He’s our go-to guy.”
“Everyone makes fun of me, they call me slow,” Campas said in recalling his 96-yard runback. But “this one wasn’t me. I have great blocking up front. Like Mike Polvere made a good block, and Tai Sing Hee blocked. They basically made the touchdown. I just had to run.”
That return stunned Fortuna, whose run-heavy offense is not optimally suited to overcome big deficits. And when the Huskies then went three-and-out on their ensuing possession, things got even worse for the visitors.
Campas, who ran for a game-high 94 yards on 12 carries, extended Novato’s lead to 28-7 before halftime with a 3-yard TD run. Fortuna, overmatched in the trenches, had no answer as its deficit grew to 42-7 after three quarters and 52-7 by game’s end.
Huskies tailback Brad Cobb, for instance, was limited to 12 yards on 15 carries after he had run for 127 yards and scored three touchdowns against Piedmont a week earlier. And 14 of Fortuna’s 37 rushing plays went for zero yards or a loss. Plus, 10 passes netted just 39 yards and one interception.
“Their defensive line just dominated,” said Cobb, who moved from receiver to running back this season after Fortuna scrapped the spread offense it ran last season for Benbow’s option attack. “We couldn’t run. And we’re not a strong passing team. So when they forced us to pass, we were in trouble.”
Yet, Novato can do more, Brackett asserted.
“We didn’t play well,” Brackett said. “We put the ball on the ground a couple times. And we can’t have penalties that get a touchdown called back. . . . We just need to play crisper.”
They will have that opportunity against Miramonte, which advanced to the semifinals by dumping Healdsburg 27-20 on Friday night.
“Novato is running on all cylinders,” Benbow said. “I expect them to win (the NCS title).”
Not so fast, Brackett said.
“We’ll take it one game at a time,” Brackett offered. “We’ll focus on Miramonte. We just want to take care of what we can take care of.”
Both teams lost players to apparent concussions that resulted in trips to the hospital via ambulance. Fortuna’s Jose Aquilar was taken away at halftime, with his treatment on the sideline delaying the start of the second half for about 15 minutes. Novato’s Preston Pearce then left via ambulance after the game as a precaution. Logan Edwards left the game with strained knee but is expected to play next week.

Here are the current cal preps stats for Encinal and MC. I would like to point out that 2 or MC’s loses came against teams rated in the top 1000 in CA and the other was against last years AZ state champion while Encinal as not played ONE TEAM IN THE TOP 1000!!!!! And MC is 5-3 against the top 7000 while The Jets are 3-0 you tell me who has played better football teams. I cannot stand the arrogance of the BSAL def cord.

Did you read BSAL’s comments? I am not trying to be a hater but dam play the game Before YOU TALK SMACK !!!! you know what I mean?
November 30th, 2008 at 1:32 am
No matter what people say about the schedule and how they haven’t been tested, these kids can only control what is on the field in front of them. And to their credit, they have taken care of business. It’s the NCS’s fault, they chose to place them in a different league. They would have ran the table in the ACCAL also. The arrogance of some “True” Jet Alumni doesn’t bother me, Encinal has been hated on from the first couple weeks of the polls until now. When will it stop, they know they have no believers except for those that have true Jet Pride. “22 Against the World” Poster made to perfection. I say this to all Jet Fans, talk crap, that’s what we do.
November 30th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Right on thank u Vee Tee. Hey Novato fan Jet alumni how can u still disrespect us, I thought u wore Jet Blue, Larry. Anyway, someone told me a long time ago that there is only 1 stat that counts, can u guess? Stats don’t play the game,Period! U keep digging up ur little tidbits of B.S. and when its all said and done I’m sure u will be dusting off your old Jet hat and jumping on this bandwagon. Not disrespecting anyone at this point,we know its an all out dogfight at this point but feel our 22 is special. Seen Marin Cath., seen Novato, seen Miramonte, seen BOD[oh my bad, they got their as*** handedto them like we knew they would], and they are all quality teams.{Except the overrated Dragons].Anyway, what was my point? Oh yes, Marin Cath. will be the stiffest test to date no doubt, but when preparation meets opportunity that usually runs in our favor. Speed kills no matter what anyone says or anyone that knows what they’re talking about. Speeed,Smarts and Preparation is what we have not to mention the best young coaching staff in the East Bay.Joe Tenario and staff will have this ballclub ready to play so get ready whoever,THE JETS are coming. See u at the top Baby!
November 30th, 2008 at 9:10 am
BOD B…. that’s pretty funny since JFK has been the the playoffs more times then Encinal in the past 7 years. I can understand being proud of your team, but you guys just come across as pompous jerks.
November 30th, 2008 at 9:30 am
It always gets settled on the field in terms of Championships, and for the people who differ, so be it.
Based on my experience, I happen to believe this is Encinal’s year to win out. I respect Miramonte, Novato, MC and BOD, plus the other teams who made the playoffs this year.
I will stick with my prediction of:
Encinal 40
Novato 17
If Encinal loses, then so be it, but for now let us keep any type of trash talking off this board.
I enjoy reading everybody’s posts and stats and facts, but have no desire to read trash.

Who has Encinal ever produced?? haha j/k
November 30th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Isn’t saying Encinal doesn’t deserve a #1 seed trash talking? Brown, Sashington, Milton, and Ducketts All-ANG
November 30th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
BSAL Def Coord ,Nailhouse DR,Vee Tee and anyone else who claims to be football coaches, experts and or fortune tellers. I AM NOT DISCRESPECTING ENCINAL IN ANYWAY. I simply find it odd that with all the factual evidence that has been presented you still just dont get it. Football is about TEAM yes the Jets have 4 or 5 legit. D1 players and are very fast, and teams like Novato and Marin Cathlic may have 1 or maybe two between them so with out the super stars how do they win year after year? why is it that coaches in the NCS still say that Novato is the number one seed? Is it a lack of respect for Encinal? No I dont think so it is the respect teams like Novato,De laSalle, Oceanside etc. earn by winning year after year. I am suprised you guys haven’t said your better than De la Salle yet.
ON paper the Jets should not pass the next round but that is why we play the games it is not a lack of respect for the Jets just the facts as they have been compiled by calpreps, maxpreps, norcal preps etc. ect..It is for information purposes only not to down play Encinal but by not giving respect to other teams who have earned it YOU DISRESPECT ALL OF US.
All I am trying to convey is the facts. For me it is a win win situation. If the Jets win I am golden the team and school I played for wins ,if Novato wins I am still golden becuase the school my kids attend have won either way I come out smelling like a rose.

November 30th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
My daughters say its wrong but they dont get. I dont think the Jets parents get it either. Has a former player that is where my heart is. I didnt get to Varsity much less start for two seasons for playoff teams has a 5’5″ nose guard with out heart for my team. But as ans adult and a person who has seen 6 Encinal games and 11 Novato games this season. I think Iam qualfied more than most to comment on the two teams.Plus I know football read my posts about the JFK Encinal games before it was played they where dead on
November 30th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
You guys may notice I dont comment on teams I have not seen. I like to know what I am talking about even if I cant type LOL
November 30th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
I cannot comment on Miramonte (Orinda, CA) for that reason. I have searched the net if anyone has a game on film send it to me and then I can discuss that upcoming game
November 30th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Hey larry so its mirimonte vs novato?
November 30th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
I have not seen Mirimonte I dont know anything about them sorry Iam no help there
November 30th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
As a Encinal fan,I can assure you we are not looking past Marin Catholic or for that matter Novato and Miramonte. We play em’ one at a time and take on any and all comers. This is a well Coached Football team and a group of Young men who play well together and know their roles. Novato Fan Jet Alumni,I believe you are trying to be a objective observer but why don’t you come on in for the big win with Big blue. Jet Speed comes from Jet Power.
November 30th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
well, I was at every Novato game, except for Foothill, and saw the Miramonte/Healdsburg game last Friday. not sure how much to take away from the “fog bowl”, but to be honest, Healdsburg was winning and outplaying Miramonte until the thick stuff really came in. not sure if they tired in the 4th or the fog impacted the vision of both the defense and/or the refs, but this was a game Healdsburg should have won, but let slip away. At home, I’d say NHS is a clear favorite.
November 30th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
Novato beat Miramonte for the NCS 2a championship in 2006 by a score of 48-3 at the coliseum, im pouring rain..should have gone to state instead of Palo Alto but it wasn’t meant to be.
November 30th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
hey buzz were you at the N game saturday?
November 30th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
I also think Novato is the favorite on Sat. However with out seeing Miramonte play I dont want to make bold statements. How is Miramonte offence run, pass or balanced?
November 30th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
yeah, I was there Saturday. I thought Novato looked sloppy, but Fortuna was simply outmatched. my buddy and I thought man, if we play like this against a real good team we’d be in trouble.
that was the only time I have seen Miramonte. they did have success passing as well as running, whereas Healdsburg was all run, except for a trick double pass play. like I said, tough to take much away from one game where the elements were the main story. I’m trying to tread lightly here, but I don’t see it being that close.
November 30th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
It should be a close & exciting game on Sat; very different from the Coliseum blowout… In regards to the Healdsburg game, Miramonte came out of halftime playing much better than the first half. Unfortunately, the fog was so thick it made it extremely difficult to utilize Mira’s big pass threats & the team was forced to use its run game more than originally planned w/ their starting RB only seeing limited play. I have not seen Novato play this year but as always they are very good. Anyone who’s a fan of great high school football should be there!
November 30th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
MiraFaithful, please do come to Novato – the welcome mat is out. One thing you’ll notice is ALL fans are welcome and respected at NHS. Our announcer makes a point of mentioning that its an educational event, that no one is an enemy, and we’re all rooting for healthy play (seen one too many ambulances, thank you very much).
I thought Miramonte was classy as well, though it was so cold and foggy I was more concerned about staying warm. no hot coffee?????
November 30th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Thank you very much, Buzz. I really appreciate it, but unfortunately I can’t make it to the game as I am back @ college after Thanksgiving. Concerning the hot coffee, I too was extremely surprised the snack shack wasn’t open! haha oh well, enough exciting play to warm the belly
December 1st, 2008 at 8:14 am
After all my trash talk I must concede that Encinal spanked us. Mark & Novato Jet Alumni, I even walked up to #7 on Encinal and congratulated him and his team for their effort and wished him luck on his next round. I am a man of my word. Good luck Encincal.
December 1st, 2008 at 8:26 am
Dizzy baby,
its all good. Hey Dizzy, what do you think about Marin? How did Novato shut them out?
December 1st, 2008 at 8:37 am
nfja, dizzy,
See one thing that calpreps can not calculate is how a team responds after getting hit. I mean hit hard, right in the mouth, and deep, almost razor like, all the way to the white meat. Encinal got something for Marin baby.
December 1st, 2008 at 9:38 am
dizzy you are a good man.
December 1st, 2008 at 12:42 pm
lb050nit the Jets do hit hard. The hit Xavier Milton put on the JFK kick returner in the second quarter was bone crushing to say the least. However MC is not JKF! I keep warning you guys to give respect where it is due. MC’s Nick Dumont hits hard from both sides of the ball he is by far the biggest back The Jets will see at 6′ 200lb plus. The arm tackles that brought down the JFK players will not work on this guy. Plus do you not think that MC knowns one of your starting D line men is out due to being ejected on Friday. So now you guys are down to 21 and short on the D-line. I would be a little more humble.
December 1st, 2008 at 1:27 pm

Prep football 2008: MC’s standout back Dumont garnering Division I interest

Last Saturday, however, Dumont took some time out to think about what he might be doing next season while watching the telecast of the University of Utah’s upset of Michigan.
“It (was exciting) because that was the first game I’ve watched (the Utes) play,” Dumont said. “That kind of opened my eyes right there. They’ve got a good team and a good program.”
Dumont hopes to be the next in the line of MC running backs to move on and play at the collegiate level. Utah is the first school Dumont plans to visit. The trip to Salt Lake City is scheduled for this weekend.
“He’s a Division I (college) athlete,” MC coach Ken Peralta said. “He’s taking his trip to Utah after our first game and Hawaii is probably going to offer him (an athletic scholarship). A couple of Pac-10 schools are looking at him. Skill-wise, he has the potential to play at the top level in the U.S.”
Marin Catholic is known league-wide for its dominant ground game and Dumont is just the latest in a long line of top-notch Wildcats running backs. Dumont’s predecessor, Jono Grayson, is currently playing at Cal Poly and 2003-04 starter Kahlil Bell entered the season as the No. 1 tailback at UCLA.
Even with the running back tradition at MC, Dumont set the standard last season with 1.453 yards in league, a school

record.
“He’s kind of a mixture between Kahlil and Jono,” Peralta said. “He’s not as fast as Jono but probably a little faster than Kahlil was at the same age. He’s not as powerful as Kahlil but more powerful than Jono was. He’s right in the middle of the speed, quickness and power of those two kids. He’s a give-it-all-you-got guy with the football.”
Dumont led the MCAL last season with 1,453 rushing yards in league. Only San Marin’s Mike Gonzalez – who has since graduated – finished within 700 yards of Dumont’s total.
It may relieve coaches around the league to learn that Peralta plans to lighten Dumont’s load a little this year by lining up Jack Duysen, who missed all of last season due to injury, alongside him on many running plays.
“That’s going to be probably one of the biggest differences for our team. … (Duysen is) back and healthy,” Dumont said. “He’s already made a huge impact on how the team has performed. He’s a smaller kid but he has a big heart and he’ll either run by guys or run them over. He’ll do whatever he has to do to get the yards needed.”
Duysen’s recovery and the addition of fullback Chris Adams and speedster Daimone Parker to the backfield mix should keep the Wildcats’ tradition as a running power intact but, as usual, all eyes will be on Dumont.
“(Dumont) has tremendous vision and he has good balance,” Terra Linda coach Tim Bosque said. “He’s a quality back and you just have to key on him. He’s such a big part of their offense as well. In the past, they’ve relied on him quite a bit and rightfully so. Not that we’d have three guys guard him or anything but we’d make sure we have him accounted for on all plays.”
Sounds like Utah and Hawaii – not sure which PAC-10 schools are looking, or if others have joined the group.
December 1st, 2008 at 1:42 pm
NFJA,
right, ejection, right…arm tackles too, right, right… Dumont, he’s nice, 200 lbs, cool…
December 1st, 2008 at 1:44 pm
also found this:
What’s next: Several Division I universities are interested in Dumont. He has already been on recruiting trips to Utah and San Jose State, and will likely pay Oregon State and University of Nevada a visit after MC’s football season is over.
December 1st, 2008 at 2:05 pm
LB,
My kid says that Encincal didn’t really hit that hard. He should know, he went head up with #34 and put him on his butt. Encinal fair warning, your middle D is a little soft. Talking objectively from watching the game film.
That being said, I don’t know how Encinal will do in the next round but they became my third favorite team in Div III. I was a WR back in college and they have WR play makers that made me say “Wow!”
December 1st, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Counting down the seconds until the 600 Encinal fans lash back…..
December 1st, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Only 600??..even their fan base is soft in the middle.
Kyle,
Jets fans can always be counted on to get a rise from. That’s why they get it from me so bad.
December 1st, 2008 at 2:18 pm
See, I conceded and even congratulated their players. Then LB has to talk about cutting players to the bone. Maybe its good they are playing a Marin Catholic next so the Pope can read Encincal their last rights.
December 1st, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Dizzy,
Your son is trippin. Ask that quarterback about his concussion from being hit so many times. QB’s dad/coach walked half way on the field because he thought his son wasn’t going to get up. Look how your RB’s was running, I mean sliding to avoid tackles. I have evaluated the film too brotha.
Hey Dizzy why did #33 spit up all his Thanksgiving dinner then in the end zone?
However, Im sure Encinal will be working on that line all week baby.
December 1st, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Are you talking about the concussion our QB sustained from the late hit your Refs on payroll didn’t count? Your lineman unloaded on him clearly. What RB slid? Your field is wasted. You wouldve probably still beat us on at TAK but our RBs are warriors and love hearing DBS cry out in pain.
December 1st, 2008 at 2:30 pm
And good to see you took my advice and decided to work out your Pilsbury middle…hmmmm hmmmmm!
December 1st, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Dizzy,
Ill chat with you later got to talk to Alliotti from oregon and Mike unlv
December 1st, 2008 at 2:41 pm
I wouldnt want you to ride the bench on a California Div I College team so I understand. Hurry up and pick up the phone. Give Alliotti and Mike whoever my best regards.
December 1st, 2008 at 3:03 pm
FYI…. The Encinal announcer has been reported to the CIF/NCS and should be hearing something from them shortly. A grown man making fun of kids in public doesn’t fly with them.
December 1st, 2008 at 3:31 pm
FYI… your team got whopped! =( whining isn’t going to change that.
Also, making fun of the players is half the fun of watching.
December 1st, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Come on Joey. Its bad enough they were getting spanked, they didnt need insult added to the injury. I wouldn’t have gone so far as reporting it but would’ve never done that to another team. We just expect a team that appears to have some class have their announcer take it upon himself to excerise a little restraint.
December 1st, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Yes Joey…. our team got whopped. It’s now common knowledge. That doesn’t excuse the behavior of the press box. It was low class, pure and simple.
December 1st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
He wasn’t making fun of kids ur just bitter. Get over it you guys lost to a better, more well prepared ,disciplined team. I’ve never heard a grown man cry so much!!
December 1st, 2008 at 4:55 pm
haha
December 1st, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Did that make you feel like a big man reporting him?? probably not
December 1st, 2008 at 5:11 pm
Thanks for the back while i was gone Buzz
December 1st, 2008 at 6:05 pm
lb050nit maybe you should know the facts before you start spouting off here is the info About the ineligible player
Just about the only thing that went bad for Encinal came early in the fourth quarter when defensive lineman Eric Penrose got into a shoving match with Kennedy quarterback Trevor Damewood after a Damewood interception.
Both players were ejected and Penrose, by NCS rules, won’t be eligible to play next week.
December 1st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
ya penrose #32 right. wrong fella.
December 1st, 2008 at 6:26 pm
Somebody please explain reporting the announcer from encinal. what happened? you didn’t agree with music. thats all he does, music right. was it rap music?
December 1st, 2008 at 6:28 pm
ROEPER are a parent of a Jet player ,ex player or coach?
December 1st, 2008 at 6:34 pm
No it was not rap music. When the JETS came out from halftime he played “Bad To The Bone” which they are and when JFK came out he played the benny hill theme because thats how the Titans played in the first half very appropiate I though
December 1st, 2008 at 6:35 pm
Eric Penrose was not the player kicked out either
December 1st, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Thats is what was reported in the paper if it was not him then who then?
December 1st, 2008 at 6:39 pm
and are you sure? I would hate to see an ineligible player play an cost Encinal a chance at the NCS title. The CIF/NCS has really cracked down this year
December 1st, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Kyle,
Steve Waterhouse reported on the Encinal game is there anyway to verify who the ejected player was?
December 1st, 2008 at 7:06 pm
lb050nit and Jetflash,
Here is the link to the rule book check out page 18

WILL ALL-HAAL B In The Paper Tomorrow BOWER?
December 1st, 2008 at 7:23 pm
All, I covered the game and verified with the sideline referee that it was #33 (Pemrose, I think … I don’t have the roster in front of me).
After the game, I wanted to talk to the Eninal coach, but he was consulting with some of the refs. And since I had an early deadline, I had to get out of there.
Jimmy Durkin has put a call into the Encinal coach to find out who the player was that got ejected.
I got a feeling that sideline referee gave me the wrong number. Will keep you guys updated.
December 1st, 2008 at 7:31 pm
I’m sure that the ref who administered the ejection noted the right number, and there must be a formal reporting procedure. MC would be smart to ensure they get that info and check who’s out and who’s not during the game.
December 1st, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I have the CIF/NCS program #33 is listed as Erik Penrose. Thanks for double checking guys. I really appreciate it.
December 1st, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Thats what I was saying earlier. If Encinal won with an eniligable player could you imagine the brew ha ha that would cause
December 1st, 2008 at 8:15 pm
dizzy wat number was your son cause #34 dominated all nite ask walker! the middle soft? yeah real soft U DIDNT SCORE TIL THE 4TH with 3 to go n da game. you where lucky 2 get a 1st down then 3 plays later u punted. that defense held walker & dismuke 124 yards on 30 carries no touchdowns. dizzy fix your defense first buddy 56 unanswered! coach mike was nuts to put those db’s in man. 463 total offense on your weak d. damewood completed 4 passes thats not gonna get it done. 7 if you count the 3 picks.
December 1st, 2008 at 8:24 pm
Hey Guru Do you know which one of the Jets got ejected?
December 1st, 2008 at 8:29 pm
no, i thought the referee shoulda just told the coaches take them off the field.
December 1st, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Guru how do you see it going Friday night?
December 1st, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Dizzy,I can’t believe your still talking smack. What number was your son dizzy and why didn’t you meet me on the sidelines?
December 1st, 2008 at 8:57 pm
it was number 32 not 33…lol
December 1st, 2008 at 9:09 pm
I take it you are sayin #32 was the one that was ejected? John Allen? Is he first or second string? The Jets only have inside linebackers listed, if he is first string who takes his place?
December 1st, 2008 at 9:10 pm
and why would either one of them being out be funny.
December 1st, 2008 at 9:14 pm
I think that the encinal team is a good one for just 22 guys… thats says alot to me since most teams have at least 40 players…and to go out a win games and not be worn out at this point of the season is just amazing… my younger cousin played for the titans and he said that the jets do hit hard and number 34 hit hard… so whoever is on here saying that is a liar and there son is too…just some thoughts good luck to encinal this week…
December 1st, 2008 at 9:17 pm
no its not funny i think that its very stupid that he got ejected because who wants to see a kid not play?
December 1st, 2008 at 9:21 pm
NFJA how are you liking from MC? besides the star…
December 1st, 2008 at 9:36 pm
GO JETS!
December 1st, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Yes it was John Allen that got ejected. Too bad. I hate to see anybody miss a big game but the rules say you cant fight. Thats probably why the coach took out some key players. Oh yea thats why JFK scored, against the 2nd string
December 1st, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Might be able to appeal the suspension if anyone got it on tape.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:21 am
Yes it was John Allen and there are replacement no worries.John Allen is the RB too but thats not a problem and he plays some Defense but thats not a problem there Dante Perodi, Mat Meno, Jesse Mercado whos also da center and yea theres other players available to play
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:28 am
BUT MAN! wow Nayem Zarif #58 pounded the QB man o man that was hard thats how he is been hitting like that . and man did Kimani #34 and Amiri#28 stopped those 2 rushers and remember Walker was limping after Sashington tackled him. X did great simple slants and breaking tackles and easy score . Cant wait for Marin Catholic they can do it gonna be a tough game but i kno they are preparing for this
December 2nd, 2008 at 7:30 am
I’m gonna continue to talk smack because you all enjoy it.
Old meddling former coach:
I will give you one clue to who my kid is, watch the tape and see who went heads up with #34 and put him on his back.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:35 am
OMFC – I don’t think thats correct. Here is the language from the CIF rulebook:
f. Appeals
1. Only appeals related to the factual situation of the player’s or coach’s ejection will be heard. Such appeals will only be
made to penalties related to subsequent penalties after the ejection, they will not have jurisdiction to change the status
of the player’s or coach’s ejection from the game in question. No appeal will be heard related to the official’s judgment
(other than an incorrect identification).
unless they can argue the 2 were dancing, it would be a question of judgement as to the severity of the fight, which can’t be appealed.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:42 am
I hear Rollins and Willis will be at the game against Marin… Dizzy I hope you wear polarized sunglasses because those rings are shinny and have a potent glare fella.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:46 am
dizzy i don’t know wat game your talkin bout. # 34 had the hit of the night on special teams on walker or how bout his other hit on walker that made him cough up the ball. dizzy ur son whoever he is was a non-factor and you know it. 56-8 dizzy go play american or mission san jose u dont belong on the same field as encinal. dizzy great defensive game plan.
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:02 am
dizzy? the whole team was scared of #34. your kid is a no show
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:03 am
Hmmm…you know- these are all just kids playing these games. Some of the comments here are mean & hurtful. Try to be some kind of good example of sportmanship & you will have young men to be proud of.
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:05 am
dizzy, #34 has NEVER been put on his back. He has never got his back dirty in any of the games.. he will go head up with any of your kids and he will show u how hard he hit.
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:35 am
Roeper when you are as cool as me you wear polarized sunglasses 24 hours a day.
Guru Black, I think the hit of the night was the cheap shot your LB took on our QB. LMAO, you encinal fans crack me up.
I now hope Marin Catholic treats you like alter boys.
December 2nd, 2008 at 11:02 am
dizzy cheap shot? ur water gun q.b was carring out an option fake. it’s not my fault he’s soft.dizzy 1 playoff win in 40 years! wat kinda of program do u guys have? save the film against encinal so u know wat a real football looks like not that pop warner system u guys run.
December 2nd, 2008 at 11:59 am
dizzy, you do dont know what you are talking about. encinal defeated st sv 43-6 and you guys only beat em 28-7 letting them in the game till the 4th . i can only hoope that they dont treat you guys like a pop warner team, and maybe not run the score up. encinal is faster and way stronger then you guys. your guys D had nothing on our O. your leauge is over rated and you only have one good team and that would be Novato. which you guys got blown 21-0. im lookin forward for Encinal to go 13-0 and get a D2 north state championship bid over casa roble because they have a signature win over novato which casa roble doesnt have. so strength in schedule do play a big role.
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Getting back to the game on Friday how about a QB comparision. Maxpreps stats for Johnathan Brown through 11 games are as followa 55 comp. 100 att. 1164 yards 4 int’s 24 td’s with a QB rating of 119.
I could not find MC’s QB on maxpreps but the Marin IJ posted these stats today for all games played Nate Kristoff, MC 63 comp 139 att 1077 yards 11 td’s they didnt list int’s so I gave him 5 (pulled the number out of the sky) that gives him a QB rating of 125.
I would give the nod to MC and Kristoff on paper. I have seen Brown in 6 games this season the kid is the real deal and I would lean torward him , but MC has played a tougher scedule against higher rated teams so that gives MC another advantage. Then of course are the rushing yards which clearly goes to Brown with 703 I could not find anything on Kristoff.
So I guess it comes down to a coin toss LOL
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:32 pm
For the record I am going with Johnathan Brown Advantage Jets!
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Are those Titans fans still whining? Man ya all need to cowboy up and take it like a man.The JETS will show up with their gamefaces on and ready to play and they’ll give 110% like they always do.
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Jet4Ever52 if your roster is now down to 21 guy’s that means some one else is giong to need to take thoses snaps. You dont think thst will be a probelm against MC? MC is much bigger and athletic than JFK.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Guru black, option fake??? I guess when you roll out release the ball and count to two then lay a hit that is clean. That is like me hoppin the curb and hitting you and say you had it comin. Be real.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:12 pm
No whining here Jetsflash. Just making an obvious point that eventually lead to your player getting booted since our QB felt he needed to retailate.
I have a feeling you guys will kill yourself if and when you get smoked in the next round.
MC 38 Encincal 30
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Dizzy you think it is going to be an offencieve shootout? What makes you think that?
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Funny Dizzy. We wont need to kill ourselves if we kill MC first. It will be the toughest assignment yet.Again game face, prepared, fired up, loud fans and most important were all FAMILY
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Novato Fan,
An “offencieve” shoot out no.
an “offensive” shootout yes.
But its good that you almost remembered that jingle…I before E, except after C.
Jetflash,
Play your game and you should do just fine.
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Dizzy,Just remember all this smack talk you are doing while YOU and your SON and JFK are watching for the scores online. Just be honest and admit you are a closet jet fan.
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:58 pm
LOL Dizzy thanks for the spelling lesson. To bad you don’t know football as well as you spell.
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:49 pm
dizzy i wouldnt call damewood a quarterback.you saw wat a real q.b looks like #10 carvin up coach mike’s weak db’s. still cant believe u guys tried to play man with zero safeties.
December 2nd, 2008 at 7:35 pm
dizzy, you talk the most smack and your kids team got blown by the ENCINAL JETS 56-8. Encinal came out with a bang the first quarter and JFK couldnt do anything about it. the funniest thing is that jonathan brown was tearin your qb up into pieces and he was getting so mad and #33 was a little poor sport hitting anything he saw after the wistle. he couldnt go head up with anyone exspecially #34. your whole team was scared of (#34)kimani washington. they would try to run away from him every play. so just sit back and watch the encinal JETS take it all the way. you could even come to the game and cheer the JETS on.

I guess the phrase “act like you’ve been there before” hasn’t been floated to the Encinal crew before. Probably because you guys have never won anything, what joke. You’ve played in the worst league, got a win against a team that had never won a playoff game before and have basically crowned yourselves kings.
You guys don’t have any good wins. All I hear about how O’Dowd’s schedule sucks, but look at yours? Good thing Campo got moved to D-2 or Encinal would get smacked around just like last year!!
When was the last time Encinal won something important? The BSAL is like a JV league. Novato or Miramonte will destroy Encinal, assuming it gets by Marin Catholic!!!!
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:12 pm
who cares if Encinal has played in a bad leauge. if encinal were to play Campo again they would kill. Campo was suposed to play Encinal at the beginning of they were scared. Encinal is a hard working team and they could match up with anyone if they work together.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:40 pm
who cares if Encinal has played in a bad league? you ask?
Obviously not Encinal. That’s the only way Encinal can win a league title. There is a reason the ACCAL punted that joke of a school.
Campo was not supposed to play Encinal. Encinal has their two joke rivalry games and the home and home with Monterey. Encinal fans are the most classless group on this board. I feel bad for the players that they are represented by you guys.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:47 pm
what school to you represent??? DFAL Fan
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:19 pm
DFAL Fan You sound like a real hater. Can you tell me why Campo didn’t want to face Encinal this year? The Accal teams are probably glad Encinal is gone. I know Berkeley is because we probably would’ve won the league. Campo didn’t want the preseason match up. Ask their Coaches why. But i’ll tell you this,Encinal plays well because they play together and for each other. Jet Speed Comes from Jet Power!
December 2nd, 2008 at 10:39 pm
I really wish I could go to this game!! Novato fan, you better be using the text network
to get the scores to the fans as quick as possible..thanks for signing up, tell alll the MC fans for next year.
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:54 am
I’m lovin every minute of this guys. I know football just as good as I know how to spell but I am not a coaching JFk just like you who happen to be an armchair QBs. Actually, I forget more football than most of you remember.
Old meddling coach,
shhh, don’t tell anyone. I think I said earlier in this posting somewhere that I was impressed with your WR core. They want the ball and prove it.
Once again, there was on person who didn’t run from #34 and put him on his back. Admit to me who that was when you find out Jetfans and I will give you a shiny nickle.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:02 am
Confessions & Suggestions:
1. Encincal played great.
2. Kennedy was weak.
3. Encinal should change the name of their field from W. Stargel to Roydell “Mud” Williams.
4. The officals run faster than any player on your team.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:19 am
Hey Dizzy why are you harping on the field. Ball players can play anywhere parking lot , sand lot turf and muddy fields. GET A FOOTBALL TEAM THEN YOU CAN TALK
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:20 am
dizzy now jfk is weak team? u know wat? your right but i knew that before the game. it was u, jimgp20, titandad who believed u had a chance. your son got slapped up friday & you know it that’s y you won’t say wat # he was. hopefully will meet in da playoffs again but i doubt it cause 5 times in 40 years wow once every 8years u make it! i know coach mike wont play us in non-league so see u in 2016 playoffs.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:22 am
I didnt say that is why we lost. I just said your field was garbage. Maybe all us old guys should suit up, meet up on your field and have a friendly game of football. I don’t wanna hear any crying though when I lay you out and you break your hip.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:23 am
Guru black,
We played weak that game. My kid is #22.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:41 am
Guru black,
We will probably see you in the playoffs before that time but I guarantee that we’ll be there in 2018. My 5 year old is a beast. I should get him in HS now to play, he’ll go heads up with anyone on your squad. The problem is he’ll probably get repeated penalty calls for chopping your players at the knee.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:42 am
dizzy your son never ran anyone over in the game. i’ll say this he runs hard though harder than walker who was tip toe’n out there. the jets made u guys play weak. the infamous jfk runnin game got shut down 44 for 181. walker & dismuke didnt even sniff the end zone.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:52 am
He did just watch the tape. Thanks for the props on my kid. He was out there and truth be told he shouldn’t have been out there, he wasn’t at 100% but who is gonna stop a kid who wants to play in what was possibly his last football game. It wouldn’t have mattered, we still probably wouldve been stomped but it takes more than one guy to be a team. The good news is that next year he goes to a Div I SC in Cali so you will get to see him play again.
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:58 am
dizzy ur boy showed wat kind of player he is by pading up & playin. tough kid wat school did u say he’s goin to? see u in 2018 like u said.
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:12 am
Thanks Guru. He hasnt made any commitment but offers are on the table. Once he makes a decision, I’ll announce it. Its definitely SC D1.
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 am
Hey guys JFK is at home can we move on. Dizzy have a nice off season.
December 3rd, 2008 at 10:36 am
novato fan jet alumni marin catholic looks like a very good team tell me how did novato shut them out? too much speed? did they get overpowered? i heard novato was runnin outside with the fly sweep.
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Guru, I’ll chime in for NFJA. NHS has a stout line (not huge, but big butt kind of guys) and very active linebackers that are able to get into the backfield early. you have to stop Dumont before he gets up a head of steam. they swarm and gang tackle, which is the key to getting Dumont down since he’ll run through most single tackles. NHS is just very familiar with MC’s offense and run schemes, playing them year after year. MC is very good, no doubt.
Anything to add NFJA?
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
EXUSE ME numbber 22 dismuke?? or something? was horrile. i am sorry he played soft and was scared to run, his linging injurty happens every game i seen what happend in el cerrtio where he can barely WALK and shake hands, are you kidding me. if he breask ay nail i bet he will complain on d1 scholly he is getting is in chess or something because its for sure not for football
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:57 pm
i agree with FOotball TRUTH. i was at the encinal Kennedy game rooting for kennedy because my son Rashad Smith #11(qb)played for Logan last year and what i witnessed was not heart but crying and making excuses and couldnt make any plays. my son a real D1 athlete and your son doesnt come close to a D1 athlete. good luck at telling your friends about your son being “D1″ when he is probly going to be sitting on the bench at a JC or doing at home in the boring city of Fremont on stevenson.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Yeah Dizzy ya boy kept his head up and he didn’t quit. My props to him.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm
dizzy,
what grade is your son in. how far did you guys have to travel to get to encinal. im thinking about giving encinal a call. sounds like a good program.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:11 pm
How good is marin catholic’s offensive line? I hear they might have the biggest lineman in D3 playoffs for NCS. Can he move a little bit?
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:19 pm
encinal has a quick, strong, fast, smart and agressive D line which will off set the whole O line from marin catholic. but i give a lot respect for marin catholic and there O line but i think encinal is going to win the battle from the games i watched
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
NEUTRAL FAN – You are not a neutral fan. You are not Rashad’s dad. If you were you would know your own last name EVANS.
Pick one name and stop pretending to be different people and having conversations with yourself.
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm
i am not nuetral fan
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Kyle you already know. As for LBROPETHECAMP..
December 3rd, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Haha know about you and your 10 names or whatever too….
If you guys want to use 4 names or whatever thats your own deal, but Neutral fan has used a couple names as well and its not OK to start posing as someone you’re not.
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:00 pm
LOL. thats pretty funny that someone needs to somebody create another login just to have someone agree with him(self).
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:42 pm
So, next time you rip my son on here, does that mean I respond to all of your names in your head, or just one?
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:16 pm
right
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Old Meddling Former coach thanks for that last link that was realy cool for the the Jets. Huge props to who ever got that on ESPN
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Yeah Novato i thought it was too and it is Mark the Former Coach and Encinal parent. I just changed my name to give the coaches something to laugh about at school.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Encinal Has a Website http://www.encinaljetsfb.com
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Hey guys here is an articale from the local Novato newspaper i thought the Jet fans would realy enjoy it LOL http://www.novatoadvance.com/articles/2008/12/03/sports/doc4936ff1cbb91d471654823.txt
December 4th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Old Meddling Coach…thanks for the positive feedback. Though we differ on different football politics, I appreciate you seeing past that and seeing a player for what they try and achieve. Good luck to you guys.
Football truth,
whenever there comes a time you admit that you have never even been on a field other than to give my boy some water, i’ll listen to your BS.
Neutral Fan,
Quit posing and go back to your Warcraft game and gerbil porn. What gave you away besides saying the name of the player wrong is that Evans are very humble and would have never said anything like that. Rashad and my son played in the same league before HS.
Kyle,
Give up the email address of Neutral fan and everyone on here i’m sure will be more than happy to send him spam and trojans. That’ll keep him busy and off this site.
December 4th, 2008 at 10:46 am
TROjans dismuke? ahahahah that makes me wanna
pUKE.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Not going to happen.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:39 am
Hey Kyle where are you going to be Sat.(Novato) On the field,in the box or in the stands?
December 4th, 2008 at 11:46 am
I’ll be on the field… at Pittsburg.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:47 am
do you guys have anyone comning out to Novato?
December 4th, 2008 at 11:51 am
Kyle is going to be so sad when Pitt beats SRV =(
December 4th, 2008 at 11:52 am
You guys need to get day jobs.Jets will show up to play and to win DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE
December 4th, 2008 at 11:55 am
haha I really don’t care who wins.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:59 am
Ben Enos will be out in Novato.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Jetflash I dont tihink anyone here or that the Jets will play have or will under estimate Encinal. It it all the Jet fans who have been disrepectful and under estimating the remaining 3 teams who are all have higher ratings.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
The Jets have a serious air game. Anyone who can’t defend the pass will be in a world of hurt….i can’t believe I just said that. I know you are loving it Novato Fan Jet, especially coming from me.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Football Truth, I’m sorry…planned parenthood condoms. Does that make your little tummy feel better?
December 4th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Dizzy outside of the BSAL the teams do pass more. Do not worry about the DB’s for MC or Novato. The real test here will be the O line for the Jeta can they give Brown the time for Milton to run 20-30 yards on the post patterns they love. He cannot throw the bomb if he is on the ground.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
All better respect the Jets, they beat Moreau Catholic 55-0 and JFK 56-8… that’s serious business.
ThEy bE Da trUTH.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Joey dont be a MORON Moreau Catholic has a NEGATIVE 33.5 rating and JFK is rated at 6.8 they should have put up that many points. Novato put up 53 against Redwood a DIV I school with rating of 15.9 and beat San Rafael -5.6 raing 66-15.Please if you are going to post know what you are talking about . Not to mention the last two playoff games thet won 49-7 and 52-7.
December 4th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Come on NFJA, read through the sarcasm.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Novato Fan Jet Alumni, Well They have been giving Brown plenty of time up to this point and please keep in mind that he is NOT a drop back statue and Is VERY mobile. The Jets Offensive line is a tough gritty Group of young men. They Like Being in the trenches. They Are The Jet Power That provides the Jet Speed.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
novato fan jet alumni i hear you question the jets o-line. wat questions do u have about marin catholic? novato? or are they perfect? wat about m.c’s recievers can they get open against the jet db’s?
December 4th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Thanks Dizzy, Just havng fun jousting with ya.
Any kids who just goes out for football and hangs in has guts in my book. It is not a game for the weak minded.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
There are so many staticians in this room. I know now I shouldve paid more attention in pre cal.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
OLd Meddling,
I am glad you recognize the statements I make as humorous jousts. There are few in here who take it much too serious and don’t understand that trash talk is just part of the game. (they never probably stepped onto a field) I can tell you used to strap it up and get out there and smack talk your opponents just as I use to. I think that’s a major part of winning games. The better the trash talking the game more fun the game. In high school and even incollege, we’d crack up 1/2 the time the other team got a good one in on one of our guys or even when they’d get one in on me.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
i have no problem with trash talkin. let the players take care of it on the field between the whistle.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
guru-black MC and Novato are not perfect by any means. For MC you need to stop the run and make them put it in the air. The 27 points allowed last week was the most MC has allowed in the last 2 seasons. How did O dowd do it? Is Encinals O line as good or as big as BOD’s. One big factore is going to be the field. MC has played all but one of it’s games on turf, going to natural grass is very different.
Novato is not perfect either. They are not real big ,but they bring a very balanced offence to the field. They are deep in the skill positions. The biggest advantage (THIS IS NOT A KNOCK ON ANY OTHER COACHING STAFF) is the coaching staff. They use each of there players strengths very well subbing players in and out better than anyother team I have seen. Short of just being overmatched physically to beat them the Jets will need to play a perfect game.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Guru Black…sounds like i hit a nerve.
December 4th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Dizzy you have earned my R-E-S-P-E-C-T. And MC is going to be our toughest oppenent yet. With that said “22 against the world” are coming with game faces on. OH YEA
December 5th, 2008 at 12:52 am
Had an opportunity to watch and talk with players from the kennedy-fremont football team and asked why they gave the QB so much time to throw against Encinal when they were able to get after the QB the week before? The answer was holding and chop blocks. The D-linemen for kennedy-fremont apparently at one point in the 1st qtr asked to ref to watch the holding and the ref replied “well, try not to get held”.
In the opening series for Encinal on one play the entire O-line was allowed to set (hands on the ground) raise up and set again with no penalty (I guess its on a video that may be sent to NCS about the officiating).
When the refs were asked to watch the guards from Encinal for moving early (they say multiple times, again on the video…this is easy to see) each ref said “its not my call.” If the info seems unfounded watch the tape.
On one play in the first half the whistle was blown immediatly after the snap and Encinal’s center had both hands on the nose guard’s shoulders filled with jersey, the players told the head ref to look and he replied “I don’t see anything.”
The Jets are in the next round Congratulations to them they worked hard, they got it. Just try not to yell and jump around before the person singing the National Anthem sings “and the rockets red glare” I’m not sure you know but its kind of disrespectful.
December 5th, 2008 at 6:44 am
Good luck to both MC and Encinal tonite. Good luck to Novato and Miramonte tomorrow. Regardless of the trash talk, the game will be played on the field. Regardless of the poor sportsmanship and bad calls, the outcome will be determined on the field. This has been a great season for everyone involved and just remember, whether you believe or not, karma is a b*%&ch and it will rear its ugly head when it is least expected. BE SAFE and PLAY WITH HONOR!!!
December 5th, 2008 at 6:53 am
hsfootballfrezy,Holding is grabing and pulling or the hands and arms encircling the body. I will say it might happen a few times but not the way you say. All Honest Offensive linemen will admit to it from time to time as it is the nature of the game. The Line just blocked well and they also have a very mobile QB. Also I don’t believe that showing a respectful spirited response to the National Anthem is disrespectful at all and i am a Former Service member. Encinal was just the better football team that day. The score reflects that so please stop with the sourpuss moaning. One last thing,Cut blocking is just that. Cut blocking is permiting at all levels of football last time i checked. Jet Speed comes from Jet Power.
December 5th, 2008 at 7:02 am
One last thing. Encinal has tasted defeat before in the semi’s last year and this is the reason these guys are driven. Win or lose these guys will not quit until the last second is run off the clock. Keep in mind that most of the people (including me) are fans on this blog And don’t play. Stop hating on the Kids and let them have their fun. We’ve been on the losing end so what is wrong with them enjoying it now. With respect to the other teams of Course. I hated to see Kennedy Lose like that but it will make them stronger next year but someone wins and someone loses and as i said above,Encinal was the better team last week. As for Tonite,I feel Victory will be ours.
December 5th, 2008 at 7:47 am
The old guy’s got a point frenzy. Like it or not, bad officiating happens. As a defensive tackle I was taught techniques to get an offensive lineman off of me, not to get a referee’s attention. We were always taught to play against the team, the crowd, and the officials. Not saying it’s right, just saying it’s how it is.
December 5th, 2008 at 8:45 am
You Kennedy people need to just stop, YOU LOST! Just be happy you made it that far. Wait another 40+ years and try to win the 2nd round.
One thing I will say some of you are pretty creative, blaming the halftime announcer, the field, refs and now the National Anthem. What’s next?
Were the Encinal fans wearing bright colored clothing? That distracted the Titans from looking down field. Could explain why the RB’s would run to the sidelines. Well at least that sounds better than they just didn’t want to get hit…
December 5th, 2008 at 11:54 am
Joey,
This issue was long dead as of last week. Quit taking shrooms and join the up to date conversation. We have conceded defeat to a good team. I for one had to say that after the JFK – Encincal game that I became a Jets fan. Ask anyone on here, Jets got props from me just like I said they would get if we got beat. Save your rethoric for MC.
December 5th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Dizzy you’ve grown so much this week. WOW what a turn around. Now about the game. The JETS are winners not whinners. Come with your game faces on. And to echo Old Meddling Former Coach” Jet Power and Jet Speed”. See ya at the BIG GAME ta all
December 5th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
I’ll make it easy for people to understand why Encinal has done so well. Shakespeare Quote:This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day. Any real Warriors will understand. Jet Pride!
