Today’s Argus in the MVAL standings has Newark Memorial’s record as 17-3 which is correct the 16-4 or 17-3

Anyone know if Lyles and Ashley are playing for O’Dowd this year, or they have to wait a year after transfering from Amador? That’s a pair of players right there.

Ashley is playing and she is definitely a huge piece to the offense and a force on defense. She had 10 blocks against Sacred Heart Cathedral-SF. I don’t think Lyles is playing, though.

Lyles is the second best player I ever saw in the EBAL 00 like a Mia Fisher….maybe she is sitting this year.

Castro Valley has a big week with Hayward and San Leandro. If we come out on top both games we should start getting respect from more than this poll.
The Trojan Den coming for you Hayward. And we hope San Leandro shows their faces in our gym on friday. The Den will be unstoppable.

Mia Fisher was a great one, but I would have to go with Niveen Rasheed over Lyles, especially now that Lyles just played in the EBAL for 2 years. Niveen will end up with at least a share of 4 EBAL titles and is by far the best player in that league. Lyles is a nice player who can shoot the lights out, but she is not near as good on defense or rebounding as Rasheed.

I forgot to mention that Lyles is sitting out this season after her transfer, but I hear she is making some noise on the BOD soccer team, which her transfer had no bearing on as she didn’t play soccer last season. Ashley is eligible after the transfer because she was hurt most of last season and only got into the last couple of games.

All we gotta say is we are disappointed and surprised. We are a young team, and young teams occasionally stumble. It’s all good though. Hayward made shots, and only Shaddy did for us. We’ll be back on Friday don’t worry. All the haters can talk to our 17 wins, especially you Foothill boy, I don’t even know how you can show your face in public with one win. And Dverdin, I don’t see how playing teams like Mt. Eden and Arroyo is any different from MV and De la playing teams like Foothill, Granada, Amador, etc. We all have crap teams in our leagues. Hayward we’ll see you at home I hope you bring your b*tch a$$es to our gym see what happens.

you are correct thats why everyone says how down eastbay basketball is this year but your preseason schedule was terrible as well, the best team you beat was a very average pittsburg team without its football players

True Hayward out ran and out shot Castro Valley in that game but this is just the beginning CV is a young team with plenty of potential and a great coach. Its good we will see Hayward at CV. I am happy beat CV not because I’m a hayward fan but I’m a HAAL fan. This makes it intresting again and pretty much evens the field. MVP voting will come down to Cunningham, Berry and Parker. Brue is good but not better than those three. This win puts Hayward back in the top 15 so the HAAL can again boast that 4 of the top teams in the bay belong to their leauge. Parker had a monster game but because of the win Davion Berry should be prep athlethe of the week. I’m banking he will have a good game friday against league joke Mt. Eden
