Trojans drop first HAAL game

The Hayward High boys basketball team defeated Castro Valley 69-58 tonight at Hayward High. Davion Berry had 29 points for the Farmers, while Rashad Parker had a career-high 37 points, including eight 3-pointers, for the Trojans.
The Hayward Area Athletic League crown is a four-way race again between Hayward, San Leandro, Castro Valley and Bishop O’Dowd. All four control their own destiny.
The Trojans will host San Leandro Friday night at 7 in a first-place showdown.

What I am saying is that The Trojen Den talks major smack and says that his “6th Man” rooting section makes the difference in games and how they were going to will CV to victory….. well that didn’t happen because it’s the players and Hayward’s were better than CV tonite

I must have been at a different game last night.The one i was at last night, was a heck of a game between two top teams in the eastbay.For hayward you had Keith Martin setting the tone with 3 beastly first quarter blocks, Jabril with his usual clutch shots, and defending league co-M.V.P Davion Berry doing what he does best, attacking the basket & getting his teamates going. But the story of the night was RASHARD PARKER!! by far the purest shooter in H.A.A.L I Have a two year old boy Devin, i would pay Parker to give him shooting lessons. P.S. big shout to Bretharte Bears 7th & 8th grade teams

Great game last night Parker put on the best shooting performance I’ve ever seen pros included. The bad part was it was only for 3 quarters he went ice cold in the 4th. He was putting on such a show the rest of CV just sat around and watched him. Parker and Berry are now doubt the best players in the HAAL not named Jared Cunningham. Martin was the X factor he dominated CV big men.

As far as CV’s sixth man, i just hope they don’t go to the wrong school one day and act the way they act. I can see a big melee breakin out when the school administrators ignore their cussing, their racist remarks and their down right over the line comments. I have seen other schools 6th man squads get fired up, but they go too far, and for some reason, they get away with it. I am happy for Hayward. They just made this a real contest in the HAAL and showed the rest of the Bay that we have four top tier teams in our league versus their one maybe two.

Hayward Footbal whooped them in football 55-0
Hayward Basketball whooped them 68-57
Hayward High cross country runner whooped on Castro valley
* and considering how much hardwork castro valley puts in to their sports they suck! Omg hayward is just natural talent, so Castro valley is clearly hella shitty, and if we worked as hard they did we wuld murder

castro valley is ten times the school that hayward is. We might have lost to them once but we finished higher than them in league for both soccer and basketball. and who cares about football, half the team was hurt this year and the coach was garbage. CV is a wayyyy better school and the girls are way finer. i dunno why anyone in their right mind would choose to go to Hayward over CVHS
