Clayton Valley’s Cole commits to Oregon

Great news for fans of the Ugly Eagles. Clayton Valley wide receiver/defensive back Nick Cole, who was the first-team utility selection on this year’s All-East Bay team, has orally committed to Oregon to play football next year. I’m told he was recruited as a wide receiver. He intends to sign on the dotted line tomorrow on National Signing Day.

Cole, who is currently playing basketball for the Eagles, is also a very accomplished track athlete. I know the recruiting process was a bit slow for him at the start but in my opinion, Oregon just got one heck of a football player.

Clayton Valley coach Herc Pardi left me a message to say that Nick was recruited by Cal Poly and Army but Oregon entered the process at the end and landed their man.

For those who don’t know Cole, check out his Geeks appearance this year.

Very Nice Nick…I will now become a duck fan in yours and pipers honor

  • A lot of Oregon’s success comes from their ability to develope “diamonds in the rough”. Highly rated players are important to the program, but these over looked gems help the Ducks consistently out produce teams with higher recruiting classes.

  • Nick, you know your grandparents love and give full support to all that you do. Good luck on your new adventure and God Bless
