If the expectations for Scott Griggs weren’t high enough already, the San Ramon Valley pitcher will have to deal with a little bit more after being named to the second team of Baseball America’s 2009 preseason All-American team.
Griggs was the only Bay Area product to make the list that was released on Wednesday. The hard-throwing right-hander had an injury-shortened junior season with the Wolves, but he still gained an invite to the Aflac All-American game at Dodger Stadium where he pitched a scorless inning last August. Griggs is headed to UCLA next Fall.
