There was certainly some shaking out this weekend, and even one shift that last night seemingly proved to be right; Livermore 8 – Foothill 0!
SRV, CalHi and DV are all ranked higher than is warranted, especially considering their average/sub-average league records to date?
Also, where are Berkeley 12-5/6-1 & Newark 10-9/7-1? I realize the HAAL is light, but at least Berkeley deserves a mention?

Saw Castro Valley play Bishop O’Dowd today – 4/23/09
CV needs to be placed in the top 4. They are loaded with talent.

Castro Valley has losses to both Alameda and James Logan. Although the win over Bishop O dowd should vault them past them. There isn’t much difference between teams #2-#15 and I would not call it an upset if CV beat a team like Livermore, Foothill , Logan in playoffs. Logan also lost AGAIN to a bad Newark team the only thing saving Logan is it has wins over Odowd, CV, San Ramon and Pinole . Livermore over Foothill was suprising, but as I mentioned this is the most “down” this section has been in quite awhile and it’s anybodys ball game. I’m rooting for a cinderella, like CV , Cal or Deer Valley.

That was a good game the poles ought to be interesting this week. Lots of movement. I still think the sleeper in the HAAL is Arroyo.
April 24th, 2009 at 9:19 am
The HAAL will be represented well in NCS. Castro Valley in division I has a chance to do decent, Arroyo in division II could make a run, Bishop O’Dowd should win division III and Moreau Catholic will be a force in division IV.

Don’t forget Concord, even though their division is not the strongest the did not allow a run in the HASA tournament in Antioch while playing and beating Las Lomas, Antioch and Benicia. Plus they did make it to the NCS Championship last year with most starters returning this year.

What division is Concord?
April 25th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Foothill & SR are over rated. Livermore is the real deal and could run the table in the EBAL
April 25th, 2009 at 9:52 am
Mckbooth, Concord is Division II. They’ll be one of the favorites I think.
April 25th, 2009 at 10:25 am
Don’t forget about St. Patrick/St. Vincent in Div. IV. They have another strong team this year.
April 25th, 2009 at 10:51 am
Yes. St. Patrick-St.Vincent will be tough in D-IV. I have to think they are one of the favorites.

When Elder is pitching for Concord they have the possibility to beat anyone!
April 26th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
DIV III Albany may have enough to beat O’Dowd in NCS.
April 26th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Wasn’t BOD the only lost that Albany had last year? Yeah, that would seem to be a good final. You never know how the brackets will fall out.
BOD did beat up on Acalanes early in the season. Could be trouble Albany. Good luck!

I believe some may be getting a bit carried away?
DauberDown says; “When Elder is pitching for Concord they have the possibility to beat anyone!”
Concord played in the QOM and the HAAS. It’s very doubtful Concord could beat Freedom in NCS (if they were 3A), and highly unlikely they could touch Mitty, Sheldon, etc.? They are ranked 4th, a good run, but let’s keep things in perspective.

Based on Deer Valley’s performance at the Stampede…they deserve a lot more respect in the polls. Doubt that PV, Logan, and Albany warrant being ranked higher then DV.
