Hey baseball fans,
We’re set up here at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for NCS championship baseball. Kyle Bonagura will provide all the blow-by-blow action for the final two games of today’s contest. Enjoy!
Here’s our schedule:
10 a.m.: Division V: Head-Royce 2, Redwood Christian 1
1 p.m.: Division III: Miramonte 1, Drake 0
4 p.m.: Division II: Clayton Valley 3, Alameda 0
7 p.m.: Division I: Freedom 3, De La Salle 0
We will be doing an old-school style live blog for track and field starting around 10:45 to 11 a.m. I will filter the results of the field events as they stroll in this morning and then I will do play-by-play as best as I possibly can for the running events, which begin at 1:30 p.m. Although, play-by-play of the 100-meter sprints might be a bit tough! Anyway, the most current update will be just below this post. As always, comment or ask questions below. If you want me to find out about how an athlete did, please put the name, school and event at the bottom and I will do my best to hunt it down.
Schedule for today’s finals:
10 a.m. – Girls Discus; 10:15 – Girls High Jump; 11:30 – Boys Long Jump; 12:45 p.m. – Boys Pole Vault; 2 – Girls Long Jump; 2:15 – Boys Shot Put; 1:30 – Boys 400 relay; 1:38 – Girls 400 relay; 1:47 – Boys 1600; 1:58 – Girls 1600; 2:10 – Boys 110 Hurdles; 2:17 – Girls 100 hurdles; 2:25 – Boys 400; 2:32 – Girls 400; 2:39 – Boys 100; 2:45 – Girls 100; 2:52 – Boys 800; 2:59 – Girls 800; 3:08 – Boys 300 hurdles; 3:15 – Girls 300 hurdles; 3:23 – Boys 200; 3:30 – Girls 200; 3:38 – Boys 3,200; 3:55 – Girls 3,200; 4:10 – Boys 1,600 relay; 4:20 – Girls 1,600 relay

Well, tomorrow’s the big day. Whatever corner of the Bay Area you’ll be in, you can find some good softball and hey, it’s your last chance. Let’s get to the matchups.
So, it’s that time of year again. What was once known as the Times Top 100 has now expanded to include our entire East Bay coverage area. Thus, we ring in the completion of the 2008-09 season with the 2009 East Bay Prep Athletes of the Year list. Our prep staff from around the East Bay combined to pick the team. You get 110 now, and the remaining 20 will be added next week.
Here’s the link to this year’s list. The flash presentation is courtesy of Ray Saint Germain, and the list will hit the newspaper tomorrow. So, you blog followers get the first peek. Enjoy.

I was going to wait until tomorrow but I figured ya’ll would enjoy a night to debate tomorrow’s games. So, here are the previews for tomorrow’s semifinal softball games.
Hey folks, we’re at it again. I’ll be at the Amador Valley-De La Salle baseball game at 5 p.m. and my Twitter updates will go straight to here. I’ll try to get Michael Bower to provide some news and notes via Twitter from the NCS Bay Shore track meet at Castro Valley and I’ll see if we can get some others to provide updates. I know Chace Bryson will be at Arroyo-Clayton Valley baseball. A reminder again that we’ll only be firing Twitter updates into here for your convenience and nobody will be available to approve or answer questions.
Twitter is all the rage across the country right now and your friends at East Bay Prep Corner are plugged in. For those who haven’t hopped on board with us yet, you can find multiple Twitter accounts linked to your Prep Corner friends. First off is our general EastBayPreps account that all of our writers have access to. You can also find the Daily Review’s Michael Bower by searching for DailyReview or myself — Jimmy Durkin of the Oakland Tribune — by searching for ViewfromTower. We’ll try to have chats set up that are gathering the Twitter feeds whenever there’s a bunch of us out at games so you can find them all in one place, but if you are out at a game and want updates from a game we’re Tweeting from, be sure to set your account to receive mobile alerts. Tomorrow, I’ll be at the Amador Valley-De La Salle game, so hop on and get your updates. Michael Bower will be at the NCS Bay Shore track meet, so maybe he’ll pop on with some updates from there.
