NCS Baseball/Softball seeding day

By Ben Enos
Sunday, May 17th, 2009 at 9:40 am in Baseball, Softball.

Hey everyone. I know you’re probably expecting a live blog from the NCS seeding meeting since that’s normally our custom, but today we’re going to try the more laissez-faire approach. Since it’s a closed-door meeting, we’d just be sitting outside the NCS offices anyway, so when they post the brackets online, I’ll post them on here for everyone to see. Also, check tomorrow’s paper for a recap of the seeds and what they mean. Normally the seeds get posted mid-afternoon, so we can all wait together.

Ben, what time was the seeding meeting scheduled to start?

  2. Ben Enos Says:

I’m not positive, but I assume it got going around the traditional 9 a.m. I’d wager that they’ll be done around lunchtime and then they’ll get to work on posting the brackets online.

Strange that the D-III and D-IV brackets do not have 12 teams in the bracket. Does this mean that less than 12 teams met the minimum qualifications?

  6. dlsfan Says:

Where are the III an IV brackets?

  7. Fastpitch fan Says:

Strange that the D-III and D-IV SOFTBALL brackets do not have 12 teams in the bracket. Does this mean that less than 12 teams met the minimum qualifications?

  8. dlsfan Says:

Sorry. Just waiting to see if my Spartans will get one of the top seeds.

  9. Fastpitch fan Says:

Hey Dlsfan, no problem. I see that the Baseball brackets are full, including teams with losing records. Strange that the NCS, “which makes money only via the championship tournaments gates” (and the tire ads), would not fill out the Softball bracket to boost revenue. Good luck (and skill) Dlsfan…

  10. CVfan Says:

what is taking them so long to publish D1 and 2

  11. Ryan Says:

They are probably having a heck of a time getting down to 12 in D1

  12. Dauber Says:

Were there separate committes for each Division or did one committee do all divisions?

  13. Ryan Says:

Clayton Valley will probably get a #2 seed due to their loss to Alameda which will be #1

  14. LuvHSBaseball Says:

Based on DIII and DIV, it looks like they’re force fitting rankings so that teams don’t have to travel far in the first round. I thought they were supposed to rank and whereever teams fell in the rankings teams would just have to travel. Guess it’s not much different from prior years….

  15. Deep Ball Says:

What the hell is taking so long for D1 and D2???

  16. prepbbfan Says:

D1/2 are up. DLS got the overall #1

  17. FalconFan Says:
