That ball wasn't foul it was on the line the umps make the correct call. Both teams Arroyo/CV were very evenly matched. It would've been nice to see them play a 2 out of 3 series. I was most impressed by the CV sophmore pitcher. He looks small but pitches Huge! I would liked to have seen how fast he pitched. He probably hit 90mph and his curve was good as well. I've seen a lot of games this year and for the most part the umps were inconsistent to say the least. In this game I seen only a few calls for both teams that were questionable(mostly strikes or balls). This was an excellent game and the umps didn't decide the winner the kids did. It was one of those games that it's too bad somebody has to lose. Next year is gonna be even more of a challenge for Arroyo as they're gonna be the least experienced(varsity) team Eric has coached. Good job Eric and the rest of the coaches.. it was fun!

Correct but Arroyo played better as a 7th seed than CV played as a 2 seed. It shouldn't have been that close. I was sitting on CVs side and couldn't believe the game both pitchers pitched. That was the best high school game I seen in a long time.

Photo Moment..........
Arroyo did play well but so did Clayton Valley. Two of your runs scored on a ball that was CLEARLY foul, down the 3rd baseline. I thought both teams played well and game could have gone either way, but I would not say that Arroyo was the better team.

Cal also has some key injuries as well. Their normal 1st baseman Anthony Mignano has a shoulder injury and they have a young sophomore left-hander who has a sore elbow that has not pitched since spring break. They could use both players down the stretch as well.

Cal is good and maybe deserves the #5 seeding even though the overall seeding this year hasn't been very good especially concerning home games. If Stanwyck(CV) or a healthy Jaffe(BOD) started against Cal they probably would've lost one of those games. That's not to take anything from Cal they got it done and are moving on. Michael, thanks for the update on Jaffe's injury. I thought he was hurting after I seen him pitch two games after the 11-1 win over Arroyo. In that game his fastball was consistently hitting 92mph. In the other two probably 85-90mph. Well, at least Arroyo is still playing and representing the Haal.

Groundskeeper,

Eric Jaffe has had a hurt back since spring break. He hasn't really been able to pitch for O'Dowd down the stretch. Definitely not worth the risk for him to try to throw.
