The Sacramento Bee first reported this weekend that the West Coast Classic, a three-game football showcase that will take place on Sept. 5, has been moved from Sacramento City College to Whitney High in Rocklin. Chace Bryson just spoke with Pitt coach Victor Galli and yes, the games are definitely scheduled for Whitney High. Pittsburg is scheduled to play Burbank-Sacramento at 4 p.m. and Berkeley takes on Ponderosa-Shingle Springs at 7.
Also, on a related note, the Battle at the Capital showcase on Sept. 12 has also been moved. It will now be played at Folsom High. Our local games include Pittsburg against Granite Bay at 2 p.m. and California plays Del Oro-Loomis at 8. The Bee also has a blog post that talks to Granite Bay coach Ernie Cooper about the game.
