Word from Bishop O’Dowd is that Friday night’s 7 p.m. game between Tennyson and Bishop O’Dowd is sold out. THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE GATES, so if you don’t already possess a ticket bought during their pre-sale, you won’t be able to buy one at the game. The game is the first night football contest under the school’s newly installed lights.
About the only thing that will change when Danielle Mauldin gets to college is the mascot.
The St. Mary’s High girls basketball star confirmed Wednesday that she recently committed to play for Saint Mary’s College.
“I’m really excited,” said Mauldin, a senior and returning first team All-East Bay pick. “My parents can keep watching me play. The coaches were really down to earth. … There’s a good coach-player relationship.”
Mauldin chose the Gaels over USC, Pepperdine, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona and Brown.
“They were looking for a dominating player and said I have dominating qualities with a smooth outside game,” Mauldin said.

Oakland Athletic League stats through Week 3.
Just two days after teammate Tracy Clark decided to commit to Washington State, Robert Jiles has reportedly given a similar pledge. According to CougZone.com, Jiles and Clark both committed on Friday, joining Damante Horton (Oakland) and Tyrone Duckett (Encinal), who also have committed to the Pac-10 school.
