Livermore High’s Casie Cathrea qualifies for LPGA CVS Challenge

Livermore High freshman Casie Cathrea, 13, qualified for this week’s LPGA event at Blackhawk Country Club yesterday after beating LPGA player Nicole Jeray in a playoff on Monday.

The CVS Challenge will feature the World’s top-ranked player Lorena Ochoa as well as Pleasanton-native Paula Creamer and several of the game’s other top names like Julie Inkster, Morgan Presell, Natlie Gulbis, Karrie Webb and Se Ri Pak.

Cathrea plays on the Livermore golf team.

    That’s sensational…Blackhawk is the type of course I think she will play well on. It’s not the toughest track around and they don’t trick it up for the women’s tournament like they do for men’s events. Best of luck Casie!!!
