I know there’s been some misinformation floating around about Pittsburg RB/DB Erick Dargan, so I wanted to set things straight on his injury.
Dargan has a slightly torn left meniscus, according to Pittsburg coach Victor Galli. He’ll miss at least the rest of the regular season, and likely the postseason as well. Galli said there’s a chance he could be back for the playoffs.
The good news is that Dargan’s ACL is intact, which would’ve been a much more serious injury. His college prospects likely remain the same (in my opinion), as he should be working out freely at season’s end.
It’s a blow for the Pirates both on and off the field, as everyone who’s ever seen Dargan play knows that he’s one of the best leaders in the East Bay. He’s a vocal kid, and I’d wager he’ll be on the sideline cheering his team on regardless of the injury. Pittsburg plays Heritage on Friday at 7 p.m.
