EBAL Top-2:

1986: MV / Cal (MV lost NCS championship to DLS).

1987: MV / Foothill (MV beat DLS for NCS championship).

1988: Foothill / Granada (Granada lost NCS championship to DLS).

1989: MV / SRV (SRV lost in semi's against DLS).

In 1987 MV's Schon Branum became the career rushing yardage leader for the EBAL. Surpassing Dublin great Jim Boulware.

During the mid/late 70's. Dublin was a 5-2 type of EBAL team. In 1980 they won the EBAL.

Another great Dublin running back was Rob Vera (1984-86). Teammate Matt Clafton was one of the best LB's in the East Bay during the 80's.

Anyone remember Kujett Bhatia or Paul Phillips ? That was Dublin's backfield during 1982-83. Bhatia went to UCLA. He was fast and elusive. Phillips was the rugged fullback.

dublin in the ebal. somebody with knowledge email me the league histories. how come all we hear about is the 2000s. i find it funny monte vista was in the Bay Valley league and sucked it up with Pitt for 8 years. Berkeley was in the EBAL in the 90s. and There was something called the Foothill Athletic League?

if anybody else is interested, who was in this leagues, how'd they do in their seasons: like did any become section champs? east bay history is too legit to quit ~history in the making ~living history

THE WHISTLE...That is pretty accurate about Jack Trudeau's pro career, lol ! At least he made it into the N.F.L. though. Dublin QB Steve Grant only made it as a U.S.F.L. back-up (He was #2 behind the Invaders Fred Besana). Grant led Dublin to the 1974 E.B.A.L. title.

Though the most notable Dublin Gael's. That have played professionally would be offensive lineman Rob Cox (U.C.L.A. / L.A. Rams) and tight end Justin Peele (Oregon / many N.F.L. teams).

funny San Ramon has better defensive stats than Cal.

and in the rushing category, Livermore's Damaray Drew has 467 yards but is ranked last? shouldn't he be tied with Tyler Anderson of De La Salle because they have the same yds rushed. and carries aren't being the sorting..

Dutch, do you read the Sports Guy on ESPN.COM?? He wrote a funny, funny column the other day about what the quarterback equivilant would be for the Mendoza Line that baseball has. After much discussion, he came up with The Trudeau Line as the point where you're just good enough to be starting, but just bad enough to never be good. Classic column.
