I bet if it was a make athlete people would not make such a big deal out of this. Yeah its wrong but be equal people. She is being punished and critcizied more than Legarrette Blount was against boise st.

This has certainly made a stir on the internet (after all, In writing from Denmark, where this video was also shown). I do believe the Lobosplayer (Elizabeth Lambert) should be penalized, but a 2-3 game suspension would have been more apropriate that what appears to be an emotionally caused “indefinate suspension”. True, she showed unsportsmanlike conduct, but nobody was injured, so lets not loose our head.
Lets be fair here. Only because this was a female player, has this attracted such interrest. Had this been a male player, he would have been known as “a hard player” and carried that rep as a badge of honour (Think about Roy Keane, Vinnie Jones, Marco Materazzi, Pedrag Mihailovic, Claudio Gentile, Gennaro Gattuso, Rigobert Song,Jaap Stam and many others). The referee of the game has a large responsebilety in not calming down Lambert who was obviously to fired up over what was an important game, and the fact she played directly against a player (Carlee Payne) whom she had a hard time handling.

Sportsfan, I agree, it’s been ongoing for too long to get it to that point. Sort of my point, too, the refs are supposed to be the regulator but all too often the play gets out of hand because they are oblivious. Some do it for beer money, some never played enough to know how to do a real game – but many think cheap rough shots are a part of the game, and we really really need to get rid of those types at the very least.

It’s easy to sight almost daily examples of poor coaching, sportsmanship etc. I 100% agree that parents must choose who influence our kids. But relating to this topic, the officials in that soccer game ought to lose their jobs if they missed ALL those calls, what were they watching? Parents count on officials too to safe guard our kids. Also, I totally agree about the coaching allowing that type of play. It’s obvious on the competative soccer team I follow which girls are likely to have caused a player to be on the ground and which it was likely an accident. For sure with those highlights people know exactly what that girl does and look the other way. What a thug. She will get what she deserves for her play by this film following her for the rest of her life but what about the adults that allowed this behavior all through her soccer career? They get away unscathed but it was up to them to teach her sportsmanship and they sacrificed that for a win. Shame on everybody.

I just want to say a few words about an incident last weekend at a liberty high school fall baseball game. I witnessed a african american adult male enter the liberty dugout and instigate a fight with a coach. I later found out after asking a few questions who the man was. His name was Mr. Rod Ingram and he is an independent hitting coach in the area. I will say this
to any parents who use Mr.Ingram to teachn your kids that you need your head examined. Mr. Ingram’s behavior was disgusting and he had no place on that field or in that teams dugout. The good news is that
he was arrested and taken away in habdcuffs.Parents think twice about who you want to be an influence on your child.

I see the issue here as the “where-the-heaven-are-you?!” referees and assistant refs (linesmen) who should be watching for this kind of bull. Yeah, sure, I really want to play “sock-her” when I see that junk. Unless I am a thug who enjoys unpermitted violence, cheap shots, and lack of enforcement of the rules, get me away from there. They should fire and dismiss the whole ref crew there, ruining the game that should be rough, sure, but not dirty and injury-producing! Those takedowns are unbelievable – GET the heaven OUT of “the World’s game” you zebra-headed duds.

I just think sportsman ship needs to be addressed to both sides in the WHS incident, the coaches should know there should be no warming up from 40 to 40. This is to keep the teams separate. And coming from someone who used to employ these kind of tactics there is a purpose for inciting the opposition like that. Many just do it as part of their school’s nomenclature, however it is documented that many people in physical sport like boxing, martial arts, and football are more prone to make mistakes when the anger or embarrassment emotion is felt. At worst case the coach new exactly what he was doing and should be reprimanded. Best case his ignorant to the history of the things he does and should be reprimanded. After all this is not the NFL and those are children playing for nothing more than the love of then game and perhaps the opportunity to go to the next level. The coach is supposed to be the role model REMEMBER!
