Hi tony do u know how many yards rushing qb Joe Latu has from mt. eden?
November 10th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Probably not much, he does get sacked alot. I think in High School sacks go against Rushing Yardage
November 10th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
Currently, Latu has 108 yards on 117 carries and 2 TDs. Despite last week’s minus-93 yards, he is still second in the HAAL among QBs behind Brett Judson of Arroyo.
November 10th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
amauri mcmurray is the older brother, not the fullback. the fb’s name is micah mcmurray
November 10th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Lol i thought sacks count against teams total passing yards but i thought he rushed for at least 500 without the sacks
November 10th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
last week was pretty bad…. 14 sacks combo of him holding the ball and bad protection
November 10th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
In College and HS, sacks counts as rushing yards. In the NFL, sacks goes against team passing yards. Look in the paper on Sunday and Monday. For the team stats, College just has passing yards where NFL has gross passing and net passing.
November 10th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
ok thanks for the info
November 10th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Allowed: I saw that hayward, my personal opinion is that he is taking 3-step drops on corner routes (5-step drop routes)
Meaning he’s not getting enough depth for some of those routes to develop. thats just my opinion though
November 10th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
thats true he knows it suppose to be a five step drop but he tries to quicken things up too much because of the constant bad protection he gets not many people know this is the first year he played football ever and hes playing one of the most difficult position in sports he is an athlete though.. he just needs experience
November 11th, 2009 at 10:47 am
Any other Jr qb’s in the top 5 besides Musni?
November 11th, 2009 at 10:48 am
Are there any qb’s in the top 5 that are Jr’s besides Musni?
November 11th, 2009 at 11:18 am
Joe is suposeto be a jr. But their was some complications with his transfer so well see
November 11th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Thanks… Joe’s a big kid with a strong arm..
November 11th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
If Arroyo threw the ball more, I think Judson would be among the passing leaders. He keeps his head, even when under pressure.
November 11th, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Is he a sr?
November 11th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
Chris Musni is the only Sr. out of all the starting QBs in the HAAL. Hayward’s backup is a Jr. He started two games when Alberty went down. Tennyon’s backup QB is plays other positions on offense and defense.
November 11th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Chris Musni is a jr…
November 11th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
I meant to say Musni is the only NON-SR. out of the starting QBs.
November 11th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
AllowedtoHaveanOpinion: Are you a coach/parent/player/faculty/student of Mt. Eden?
November 11th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
faculty and football buff y?
November 11th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
I’m pretty certain Michael Rojas at Castro Valley is a senior.
November 11th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Ah just curious and I know 2 or 3 coaches there thats all..
November 11th, 2009 at 8:05 pm
in 2 seasons encinal has 1 loss. the 2 geeks never been to encinal football. encinal, the writers give you no respect.
November 11th, 2009 at 8:07 pm
encinal, you still get no respect? ha ha ha ha ha
November 11th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
yeah, rojas is a senior
November 11th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Does anyone have any predictions for all-league lineman? Does team stats have anything to do with the selections? Do teams like mt eden, tennyson, and arroyo have any chances of having any all league lineman?
November 12th, 2009 at 12:27 am
as far as all league linemen is concerned i think them 2 BIG guys from o’dowd should be in it forsure. i herd one blocked the kick last week @ CV to basicly win the game
November 12th, 2009 at 8:30 am
I heard Tennyson’s back-up QB is a Sophomore. Got pulled up from the JV team. He has a very strong arm.
November 12th, 2009 at 9:36 am
Ya he is a sophomore. Good kid too
November 12th, 2009 at 10:35 am
If he’s the same one I saw when Tennyson played O Dowd JV then yea he is really good. Glad I didnt play against him but his back-up on JV was good too. Last year tennyson had a good QB too but hes on Varsity as a sophomore. I see big things happening there in the next 2 years if everyone stays together.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:44 am
Ya thats the same kid. The guy who backed him up on JV is doing a pretty good job too. Should be a fun competition next year between the two
November 12th, 2009 at 11:04 am
Yea number #5 is good too at QB and he has a lot of options to throw to in that 4 and 5 WR sets. My boy Marcus is always having athletes on Tennyson’s JV teams. I played against him 3 years straight and I always hated playing against him ha ha!.
November 12th, 2009 at 11:53 am
There are a lot of great senior running backs. Who’s gonna carry the torch next year?
November 12th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Raider fan,The two geeks cover West contra costa area And Jimmy and Matt have told it like it was for us in Alameda County and The SF Chronicle gives us props as well jet fans. Trust me the Jets get their respect. Jet Pride!
November 12th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
don’t give us that “jet pride” crap stay in your own league. Pirate Pride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 12th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
there is a WR that avg. 26 ypc 0n 19 catch and 9 TOUCHDOWNS at sl high is he all league or not
thatS every other catch is a TD
by the gods ur taking about QB
quarter bck quarter back r u serious
this is a run first league and if that dont work run again lmao
November 12th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Actually John Hughes is just a sophomore.
November 12th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Hughes a sophmore???? No way? boy’s gonna be a problem for the rest of the league if thats true…
November 12th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Im sorry.. Thinking of their other RB they brought up. But Hughes is just a Jr. so he will be back next year. They have another RB that will be good. They brought him up a few weeks ago. Already their starting CB.
November 12th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
The piratessuck.. Jet pride, castle pride. On u, all day. If some how you can make an “all star” team from the haal they wouldn’t beat a team like granada, or berkely
November 12th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
Tony, do you have any insite on the all league lineman in the haal. Do team stats, or records have anything to do with the selections? Actually, can anyone give me an overview on the best lineman from each school? Much appreciated
November 12th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Does anybody have any all-league predictions? And does anybody know what the criteria for it is?
November 12th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
There isn’t really a criteria for all-league. The coaches get to nominate their players (they usually get a specific amount they can nominate based on where they finished in the standings) and the other coaches vote on it. Basically if you get nominated, you’re an honorable mention selection if you aren’t voted on to the first or second team.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:32 pm
Not sure bout criteria, but id say the returner from arroyo has a shot. 4 kickoff returns for tds. The center from cv looked fairly good. The big guy from slz had potential, but looked like he played not very physically. Musni from sl will prob get the qb, even though i think judson from arroyo is better. Also woods played decent defensive end.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
Haal-Line,
I would have to get back to you on the individuals but yes team stats do usually play some role in all-league. But, there are many other factors. At the same time, its possible that you may have an O-line as a whole sturggle but there’s an individual who does dominate their man game in and game out.
November 12th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Does anyone from mt eden, tennyson, and arroyo have any potentials. I have seen those teams snd it seemed like arroyos right guard and tackle were pretty strong on the line. Also mt edens size made them look fairly intimadating
November 16th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
#45 Haalfan The big guy from SLZ has a name….It’s William Fukofuka and check maxpreps Fukofuka is #11 in the state for his position but….. he doesn’t play very physically!!!!!!!! WOW
November 16th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Just sayin, i have been at some of slzs games. And he didnt play physically. At sl or against mt eden. And he got knocked out of the game against arroyo in which quarter. Just an opinion, dont need to get all defensive
November 16th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
Just Sayin…..yeah y don’t u come play him and we’ll see who’s just sayin!!!!!! You talk crap about my son on here and think I won’t get defensive. Please come to the field and see him!!!!!!!!
November 17th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
I actually have a friend who played against him who said the same thing im sayin
November 17th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Actually my friend went against him and said the same thing as me
November 17th, 2009 at 7:55 pm
i think we all shud get along
November 17th, 2009 at 7:59 pm
and to haalline im thinkn a couple of linemen frm slz will go all league their qb gets sacked sure bt rarel from any d-line als0 the right tackle frm arroyo plays solid and the big man sione maile from sl will be a gud pair with william fukofuka frm slz their both dominant d and o linemen and bishops linemen might be huge bt their too slow and not physical to make all leaugue well we’ll see
November 17th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
I wasnt talking crap, its just an opinion. And i have a friend who went against him and said the same thing im sayin. And plus u come on here and talk crap bout other people, but its all bad wen i ssy? Wtf
November 17th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Haal lb, u really think i play pretty well? Thanks man, i didnt think i would get any recognition outside of my coaches
November 17th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Bring him to the field with you….haha he’ll take both of you and I didn’t come on here talkin crap about anyone just responding to everyones crap. As for my son I’ll let his honors speak for themself!!!!!!
November 18th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Down Boy…..Reel those fangs back in……Jealousy is a very ugly thing!!!!!!! WHAAA WHAAA BLAAA BLAAA BLAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 18th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
kant wait to see who gets what this thursday wen the announce the 1st team all league players and man leave the big man william fukofuka alone he deserves credit after he is the best dt in the whole league no 1 can argue that..bt man wat a surprise team slz is this year who wuda known…
November 18th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
So the all league stuff will be in the paper 2morrow? And to haal lb, did u really think i played good?
