December 17th, 2009 at 5:10 pm
Love Washingtons schedule- especially if they get NU.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
Kyle,
Can you confirm this with Coach Galli? I’ve read somewhere that LBPoly might come over to play Pitt to complete a home and home series started by Pitt 2 or 3 yrs ago. That’ll be a great matchup…hope it’s sealed.
December 17th, 2009 at 7:18 pm
What week is MV playing Serra?
December 17th, 2009 at 7:21 pm
Kriart maybe you know something I don’t, but i read today where Poly has filled out it’s schedule and Pitt wasn’t on there. Think they are playing St. Bonaventure, Mission Viejo, Narbonne, and Bakersfield.

So far, Washington is out to prove something, they lost 23 to grad, but what is left plus what is coming up from JV will be interesting to see if they can improve…this is a tough schedule…San Ramon taking on Mitty shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but the rest will be a real test. Monte Vista just may struggle in the preseason but Bergman know how to get the most from his players….Will there be a Pittsburg jamboree in 2010???
December 17th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
I’m liking Washington wanting to step up to the plate here with that schedule. It would be very impressive if they get NU to sign. I don’t think they’re on that level yet, but how would we know if they haven’t played. Good luck to the Huskies.
December 17th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
from wat i heard from a couple of friends from yv.they will first play acalanes, and there 5th game will be against casa grande
December 17th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
George you think SRV will have an easier time with Mitty then with Washington and Antioch? You do know Mitty was the top team in the WCAL this year right? Ya they lost first round in the CCS Open playoffs but they were a very good team. Now I don’t necessarily know how they will be next year, but I believe that will still be the toughest game in SRV’s preseason.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
SRV, MV, and Cal will all go 3-0 in non league.
just too much team speed, atheleticism, talent, coaching, discipline and desire.
DLS will beat grant.
wait ebal teams dont have any of those things calling you out goat. kind of name is that. good luck against logan coach z gonna beat down coach b
the ebal is the best until the lose, then its the best from every other league. pittsburg, logan, san leandro, and berekeley are all the best.
dls the only champs who can do 42-0 at halftime and quiet down the crowd.
Crenshaw is in for a lot of speed, athleticism, talent, coaching, discipline, and desire, because no body brings it like de la salle.
go spartans. and james, bet you five dolla its 42-0 at halftime again
December 17th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
there’s a lot of newbies on this blog i see.
pretty much everyone floods this things and doesnt know crap about what they’re talking about. but it is fun to read sometimes. arguments still about leagues and teams, players, etc. when it should just be about the W’s and L’s
December 17th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
I don’t see Logan beating San Leandro next year Donut. Bowers has been with the program for a while and has some young talent. My biggest problem with Logan was that I didn’t see much continuity in their offense. It seemed jumpy to me. Granted, I only watched the Foothill game. George, Renegades is right. Mitty isn’t some pushover. They were tops in the WCAL this last year. Any Kravitz SRV team I can see shredding the Mitty secondary with their pass happy offense, but I just don’t think Kessler has made strong enough strides in his 2nd year of coaching to give him this win.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Mike, not newbies. Just the same ignorant remarks from the same ignorant people.
December 17th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Looks like Dougherty is going all out next year with that murderers row they will face in preseason: Willow Glen, Kennedy-Fremont, Livermore, Northgate. I guess just 1 league win and they are eligible for the playoffs.
December 17th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
where’s DLS preseason schedule? which 3 teams are they gonna play and lose to? I know there gonna be powerhouse’s and all… haha.
December 17th, 2009 at 11:30 pm

December 18th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
is monte vista really playing hayward in the 3rd game? i thought hayward is playing logan in the 3rd game
December 18th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
Thx R10
December 18th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
I had understood a lot of these who plays who deals were three-year or even four-year commitments?
December 18th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
Renegades10….Mitty was real tough this year, but they should loose a number to grad while San Ramon is on the rise….The Mitty game won’t be a cake walk, but the Wolves should win….Whats your make on this game…????
December 19th, 2009 at 12:13 am
mitty was one of the younger teams in the WCAL this year and return a core group of leaders on both sides of the ball including their star qb, lineman who goes both ways, rb, and lb. SRV had a talented JV team this year but think that they will be too young when they play Mitty. Mitty has a solid but not great jv team moving up. Do you know anything about the reports that the SRV jv qb a lot of people were high on is transferring to MV?
December 19th, 2009 at 12:16 am
truth…stick to the bball threads. if you have signifiant evidence that something is wrong take it to the ncs offices.
December 19th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
12-19-09
Renegades10…..I think this is true about the JV QB..I believe he doesn’t want to sit on the bench a year…And MV although they have a pretty good JV QB moving up…the SR boy has more skill and would fit right in….
December 19th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Renegades10…It’s going to ncs real soon you betcha!
December 19th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
The SRV JV QB may have taken snaps against Pittsburg in the NCS quarters. If so, I believe that he would have to sit out a year unless he had a true hardship. Hard to imagine that in Danville, but you never know.
December 19th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
ya plus what happens if he doesn’t beat out Lockie at MV. Then he will just be a backup for his high school career. Although maybe Oaks Christian would take him lol. He might be able to beat out Gretzky’s son for the spot. All joking aside he should stay at SRV, work hard this offseason and maybe he wins the job. Love is decent but not great. If this kid has so much talent then he should win the job anyways. SRV moving up some young talent, MV returning plenty of talent, and DLS just being DLS. Should be a good 2010 football season in the EBAL.
December 20th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
MV shouldn’t be playing Hayward, need to go out of area and comfort zone to get ready for EBAL and NCS
December 20th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Kyle…Can’t tell ya the schedule yet but DLS is not playing any out-of-state teams next year.
December 21st, 2009 at 12:16 pm
gades 10, any thoughts on who the Cali team will be? Poly? Servite? I am certain it will not be grant…I had heard no out of state games for DLS also…thanks!
December 21st, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Well they are for sure playing Serra again. There is a rumor going around that they are playing Servite which wouldn’t be a surprise given DLS does like playing other catholic schools. all games are out of section with a travel game from what i understand. and it has been said it includes a very attractive NorCal opponent. I’m sorry but the only team I can think of at that level is Grant. Maybe and that’s a big maybe it’s Bellarmine, Nevada Union, or Rocklin.
December 21st, 2009 at 5:59 pm
Why doesn’t DLS like playing other Catholic schools?
December 21st, 2009 at 6:44 pm
Kline is not going to mv, i dont know who started that rumor but hes staying at san ramon
December 21st, 2009 at 7:12 pm
They do like playing Catholic schools.
December 21st, 2009 at 7:14 pm
I actually think Kline will be the starter next year at SRV.
December 21st, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Yes I thought it made more sense for him to stay at SRV. I think he will be the starter over Love rather then competing with a kid in his own graduating class at MV.
December 21st, 2009 at 10:09 pm
Has any one heard of any new D1 offers in the Bay Area? Commits? Kyle you seem to be in the know…
December 21st, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Would he be able to just transfer over to MV and still be eligible? Not that he is going to, but if he did would he not have to sit out a year? Doesn’t NCS give you 1 free transfer after the frosh year and then make you sit a year for such a transfer? I believe it is that way for basketball and figured it would be the same for football.
December 21st, 2009 at 10:33 pm
Tom Hickel the big O-Tackle for DLS was accepted to both West Point and the Naval Academy and will play at which ever one he chooses.
December 21st, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Renegades10…truth has Newark “red handed” … signifiant evidence is on the way!
December 22nd, 2009 at 11:09 pm
R10- have Hickel connect with Whitaker- OL Cal ’09 Great guy- would be happy to help with decision – they’ll have a good discussion about the ’08 game I am sure!
He’s playing on the (typically required)USMA prep school squad for frosh redshirt year…
December 23rd, 2009 at 1:29 pm
ok will pass it along thanks. the coaches also put him in contact with a few of our own graduates who went to play for the Naval Academy from the class of 03. John Chan and Cole Smith.
December 23rd, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Please let me know when you have information on the following program’s schedules for 2010: Grant (Sacramento), Rocklin, De La Salle and Pittsburg. Thanks
December 26th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Renegades10…Back to MV/SR for a minute…The MV JV QB is not the tallest kid on the block…hes more like a Eddie Lebaron, but he has a good arm and is quick…i doubt Nevada Union will play DLS as they haven’t forgotten the beating they took years ago by DLS and Rocklin,Granite Bay, Del Oro have taken that into account along with Grant…But you never know, one of these teams may get cocky and try their luck…DLD has a 10-0 JV team moving up and they will be just as nasty as the 2009 team…In the Pittsburg Jamboree, the DLS JV team roughed up every body with no sweat and they were sharp as to compared to the varsity ….
December 28th, 2009 at 6:23 am
George Manley… The Monte Vista QB next year will not be the JV QB from this year. It will be Jeff Lockie, a sophomore who sat the bench behind Nottingham on varsity this year. He is thin (6’2″ 160) but fast (4.7 40) & very athletic. He is also point guard on the basketball team & was voted MVP on the freshman baseball team last year. Berman will play to his strengths as an athlete next year & move him around alot. He throws very well on the run. He has a ton of weapons. All 3 starting receivers & their backups return next year, along with a very good tight end moving up from JV.
SRV is baseing next year on a successful JV team this year, but don’t forget that they did not move any sophomores up to varsity like DLS & MV did with their best players so their JV success is kind of an anomoly. They will struggle, especially early in the season.
DLS only question will be who replaces the duo of Ward/Anderson. Houston had alot of success throwing because all the focus defensively was on stopping those 2 guys. They still as usual remain the team to beat in the EBAL with MV second & a whole lot of question marks after that!
January 13th, 2010 at 7:13 am
I’m hearing rumors that Encinal will be playing a week 0 game at the Battle at the Capital in Sacramento. Possible teams are Whitney, Placer, Oakridge, Rochlin, or Del Oro. Don’t know how truth there is to this next rumor but I’m also hearing that Encinal’s Pre-season will be the same EC, Alameda, Serra & they’re gaining an additional game because JFK Richmond is either canceling football or going independent in which case they will only schedule certain BSAL teams Encinal cetainly not being one of them.
January 14th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
Cal is going to smoke ebal opponents maybe even ncs only problem is dls but they a star in marcus prenot at linebacker along with 6 returning starts on defense and kyle alvarez in the backfield along with 3 returning olinemen with a 3 year starter in John sarmenta at WR
January 15th, 2010 at 11:09 am
Cal High?? No Qb – No chance!
January 18th, 2010 at 3:25 am
nobody has a qb except dls like i said
February 25th, 2010 at 5:34 am
Hey all, Looks like John Lucido is getting the Antioch Head coaching job, so here we go another 2-3 years of losing, nice guy but he couldn’t get the job done as the D- coordinator, seriously though Antioch is doomed again, if he couldnt shut down some terrible teams how is he gonna compete ?
July 18th, 2010 at 5:43 pm
SRV v Mitty will be a great match-up. Mitty will most likely be favored. They return lots of talent and will have pretty good speed. Mitty is a favorite to compete for the WCAL title.
Key Mitty players:
Kyle Boehm, 6-3, 205, Sr., QB,4.82 40, 4.03 shuttle, 32-inch vertical leap, a very strong and accurate arm, over 11 offers and comitted to Cal; Parker Smith, Sr, 6-4, 272, OT/DT, interest from several D1A schools at OG and Center, offer from San Jose State. Rocky Meszaros, Sr, RB/DB, 5-7, 180, 4.59 40, a D1A claiber polayer and has some interest; Jacob Barrow, Sr, FB/OLB, 5-11/207/4.90, another D1A prospect ; Thomas Muccullogh, Sr, TE/WR, 6-2, 199, 4.71 40; Greg Ruiz, Sr, S/WR, 5-9, 171, 4.82 40, honorable mention; Chris Eglesia. Sr, OL/LB, 6-0, 180, honorable mention
Monte Vista v Serra will be another good game…Serra will be young but will have lots of speed. They have a strong armed D1A claiber QB, but strength will be their running attack which is deceptive (3 very good RBs and a D1A WR). They have given DLS very tough games- closer than Monte Vista. They may have more speed than MV and are well coached. Key Serra players:
Andy McAlindon, Sr., QB, 6-5, 205, big arm and fast (4.7 40); Cameron Ciano, Sr, OL, 5-11, 230; and Kyle Rudolph, Sr, 5-10, 235, OL; Erich Wilson, Jr, 6-0, 190, RB/LB, “an explosive athlete on both sides of the ball and 10.91 100M in track as soph; Alex Bravo, Sr, RB/LB, 5-9, 215, all WCAL at LB; Eric Redwood, So, RB, 5-8, 160, frosh star in WCAL; Michael Tatola, Sr, DL, 5-10, 200, WCAL honorable mention; John Vincent, Sr, WR, 6-0, 175, 4.6 40, a D1A recruit;
