Lou Bronzan Invitational results

The first big local invitational wrapped up yesterday in Brentwood, as champions were crowned at the Lou Bronzan Invitational. I wasn’t there this year, but I wanted to post the results so everyone could find them easily. Also, brackets are available at trackwrestling.com.

My initial impressions are that Liberty seems to be reloading rather than rebuilding. You have to figure losing a guy like David Klingsheim (two-time state champ) and a bunch of other starters would’ve put the Lions behind the eight-ball but, once again, Greg Chappel and his staff seem to be proving just how good that program is. This year’s leaders include Nico Serrano and Jesse Baldazo, two guys that certainly had a ton of potential last year.

On an individual note, gotta like what you’re seeing from Newark Memorial’s Victor Pereira. He hit the ground running as a freshman last year and this could be the year he breaks through with a NCS title. Also, the team to watch in the DFAL this year could be Dublin, which seems to be fairly deep and has some good top-end talent with guys like Tyree Owens, Gene Sirovskiy and Nate Vincent.

Here are the results. Enjoy!
