Wrestling fans are normally used to big Invitationals on Saturdays, but this week you’ve got a little different event to head out to. De La Salle, ranked No. 19 in the state as a team by thecaliforniawrestler.com, is hosting Vacaville, No. 9 in the state, at 7 p.m. in a big-time dual meet over at De La Salle.

The bona fides for these two teams are pretty clear, but in case you don’t know, De La Salle is the defending North Coast Section team and dual meet champion. Vacaville is Sac-Joaquin Section team and dual meet champion. And, you’re highly likely to see several guys who wrestle Saturday at the state meet later this year.

The dual score was tied 28-28 and it came down to the 8th tie break criteria to determine the winner. Vacaville scored the first points in the match 8 of the 14 matches. No matter who won, it was a great dual meet!
