Jabari Brown is back home.
The former Salesian High star who transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., over the summer decided Sunday to return to his hometown of Oakland and has enrolled at Oakland High.
“It wasn’t really working out,” said Brown, a second-team All-East Bay selection last season when he helped Salesian to the California Interscholastic Federation Division IV state title. “I just decided it would be a good decision for me and the team and I decided to come home.”
It’s possible Brown could get cleared in time for Wednesday’s 7 p.m. home game against University-San Francisco, although Oakland coach Orlando Watkins said Saturday’s 5:30 p.m game at Sacramento is a more likely possibility.

[...] According to reports on MaxPreps and multiple reports in the the Las Vegas Sun , the school associated with the Findlay Prep-Henderson, Nev. basketball program will close its doors for its ninth-12th grade students. The Henderson Internationl School, where Findlay Prep players attended classes, will close two campuses and no longer serve high school students. That will force the Findlay Prep program to try to find a new school to become associated with. How much better does this make Jabari Brown’s decision to return home and enroll at Oakland? [...]

This youngman has a great family, and parents are very educated, bet your last dollar there not messing up their future NBA sons status. Great kid, someone knew something, good luck, he serves as a great role- model to our younger kids in the community.
