i agree with 2pac, if Odowd loses, it will most likely be a result of coaching. They have the three bigs starting and one coming off the bench. Guard situation is sketchy, but other than that. I will say Bobbit is nice, though

Spsv will needs to lose by only 5 or less to salesiam to be in the polls. St mary’s has the twins, but no point guard or bench, so not a big win at all. They need some real non conf wins of note, and they have zero. So they deserve no ranking.

There is no way that cv’s frontline can handle odowd’s frountline. Odowd is top talented and if they loose it will be a clear upset due to coaching. Brandon Ashley is much tougher mentally and will be a handful for cv’s undersized bigs.

That doesn’t strike me as a valid reason for a high school to switch sections. I doubt the poeple at that school really care if they are ranked in the East Bay polls. The Oakland teams aren’t in the NCS, but they are in the East Bay, so they are included. It isn’t an NCS poll, it is an East Bay poll. There are plenty of teams up north that are part of NCS, but are not located in the East Bay and are not included in the East Bay poll.

It’s more than us just getting technical. Since they aren’t in our coverage area, we rarely see them play. I don’t think anyone on staff has seen them play this year. Occasionally we see them if they are involved in a big BSAL game played down this way, but it’s rare that we go up to Vallejo for a game (since we own the Vallejo Times-Herald, sometimes we get them to send us stuff on games). But we don’t see them regularly enough to judge them and their coaches don’t report their results to us. In the past, we did include them in our voting, but they were always undervalued because we were just voting off what we saw on paper, rather than what we saw in person because we rarely see them.

Since SPSV plays in the BSAL they should qualify to be ranked in the east bay polls, because the Sac-Jaquien section does not recognize SPSV since they are in the NCS so why not include them in the rankings. I understand where they are located but the league they play in and most of their non-league games are with schools in the east bay, why get technical because of their location. They deserve some credit not only in basketball but in all of their sports. Very underrated program because of their location, maybe they should leave the NCS and join the Sac. section since they can’t get ranked in East Bay polls. Remember they play in the BSAL not the SCAC or the MEL.

Like I said before JustWondering, if St. Pat’s was in the East Bay they would be ranked. Unfortunately Vallejo isn’t in the East Bay so we don’t include them in the East Bay poll. I wish I could’ve seen that game Friday. Sounds like it was a good one.

Thatssssss Right:

The Trojan Den of 2008-09 was most definitely one of the greatest student sections of all time. It was mostly filled with seniors who graduated though. Many of them were self-proclaimed A-holes who went all out for every game. Home, away, against scrubs, or against all stars, it didn’t matter. CV’s class of 09 was a true 6th man. It didn’t matter if they got thrown out or banned by the administration or even suspended, they did everything they could to impact the game.

Obviously, now that the class of 09 has moved on, theres a huge hole to fill. Future classes better remember last year and do their best to live up to the hype.
