Add another one to the growing list of San Jose State football recruits. Clayton Valley LB/FB Vince Buhagiar has orally committed to the Spartans.

The first-team all-East Bay selection said he will start his college career on offense, with the intention of playing H-Back.

I liked the fact that its really close to home,” Buhagiar said. “I went (to visit) and it just felt right.”

He’s the third DVAL standout to sign with the Spartans, joining Concord’s Forrest Hightower and College Park’s Travis Raciti. Buhagiar said that having a couple guys he knows, as well as a couple teammates from the all-star game he played in after the season ended, helped make up his mind.

I’ve actually been talking to Hightower throughout the process and it kind of got me excited about San Jose,” Buhagiar said.

This guy was a monster at the All-Star game, he’s a gem.

Also wondering about his teammate, Jonathan Carlson, btw?

  • Ben Enos

Haven’t heard any news about Carlson yet. My sense is that he could be one of those guys that are a little undersized but, after a year at a JC, could be a great find for someone. Heckuva player though.

Congrats to the DVAL Co-MVPs’ and Forest Hightower on staying local and an even better job by San Jose to keep the local gems in our state/area.
