O’Dowd’s Bostick commits to Oregon State

Yet another Bishop O’Dowd girls basketball player will play Division I basketball next season. Point guard Alexis Bostick, a four-year starter for the Dragons, recently gave an oral commitment to Oregon State. She can sign her letter of intent on April 14.

“I gave them my commitment just because me and the coach (LaVonda Wagner) had the same mentality of winning and giving 100 percent all the time, ” said Bostick, who told Wagner of her decision after a recruiting visit to Corvallis in early February.

Bostick is the third O’Dowd senior to commit to a Division I program. Forward Robie Mayberry (Pepperdine) and guard Mikayla Lyles (Cal) signed their letters of intent during the early signing period in November.

The Dragons are the No. 1 seed in the NCS Division III playoffs, which tip off tonight.

What became of Bishop Odowds Alexis Bostick? She was not on the 12-13 Oregan State roster.

Last I heard was that she played a lot as a freshman , but not so much as a soph. I think she wasn’t getting along with the new coach. I heard she transferred to San Jose st, but I didn’t see her on that roster. I saw her at her sisters games a lot and think that she was sitting a year and re establishing her game. So I’m curious to hear this answer also. Maybe san Diego would like a sister tandem????
