I believe that Howard was one of the 7 players that couldn't play in the scrimmage against BOD. After that a few players couldn't play because of DLS being in the State title football game. I know that he missed a few games towards the start of the season.

U-mustbeinsane is correct as we all know the gold teams in club are much better than most high school teams. Especially the academy teams as they play real nice soccer.

Dublin wouldn't beat DLS. In fact BOD outplayed Dublin but the result went Dublin's way.Congrats to Dublin for pulling out a great win.Thats the way it goes. If there was any team in D2 that could play with any of the EBAL teams it would either be Acalanes or Las Lomas before Dublin enters the discussions; Acalanes because they had a stout defense and Las Lomas because they had a rugged defense too and a more attacking weapons overall, plus both team match up better size wise in the back line. This year,in my opinion, coaching made the difference and credit to the Dublin coach for getting the best at the most appropriate time.
Honestly, i agree with #29 that all teams have high level players in club and most of the players are very familiar with each other by either playing with or against for years. The difference in game speed is negligible and the only "advantage"is that the bigger schools usually have a bit more on the bench and don't lose quite as much when they sub. That being said I think the D2 schools.particularly DFAL and HAAL,are close to EBAL in quality and ability and really don't have any thing to apologize for when it comes to being competitive.
It will be interesting to follow the D2 vs D3 results next year.Congrats to all NCS finalist in all divisions.

#24 Bam Bam
Not saying that Dublin would beat DLS. Not saying that they would lose to DLS either. My original comment was that due to the recent performance in NCS Dublin should be ranked higher than Cal. With all due respect to Cal.

Dublin played over 200 minutes of soccer against 2 undefeated teams in 3 days, that Matt had ranked in the top 7 and beat them both.
Dublin also has 3-5 academy/D1 players. They also had players in Nomads.
But I will say this I would love to watch their defense against DLS.
