So the OAL has sense enough to have the Castlemont game at Tech, but try and stuff everybody in Castlemont tiny gym for a big playoff game. (And I know already you have to have a certain size gym to host)

  2. Scl Alum Says:

St. Mary’s boys posted a very impressive win last night vs. Salesian. I have to think though that Salesian is going to be very hungry in Nor Cals, and expect them to defend their State title

  3. bbfan2 Says:

where are the bod girls for div III?

  4. Marcus Reed Says:

BOD girls are a 3 seed Bbfan2. These are really good playoff brackets. Cant wait to see what happens.

  5. Prep Fan Says:

The #3 seed is brutal for the BOD girls, but they are in the same division as the #1 team in the nation, St. Mary’s of Stockton, and they lost a game early in the year to #2 Sacramento. Most any other year or division, and they woyuld be a #1 or #2 seed, but now they face the probability of having to travel to Sacramento in the semifinals just to have the chance at playing the #1 team in the nation.

At least they are still healthy, although Robie Mayberry was sporting a new knee brace last week against Campolindo. Our other top NorCal girls teams Carondelet (Radanovich) and Berkeley (Culberson) have lost key players which could really hurt their chances and I think SMB’s Mauldin recently sat out a game due to a minor injury, so let’s hope that isn’t serious.

  6. Prep Fan Says:

Is Jimmy going to set up a Pick ‘Em/Bracket Challenge for NorCals? There isn’t much time between now and when they games tipoff tomorrow night.

  7. bbfan2 Says:

they musta added it above, i didn’t see it before. does anyone know at what point radnovich broke her arm in the game? was it already out of reach for Northgate?

  8. renegades10 Says:

it happened with three minutes left in the game. subs were waiting to come in and she stole the ball and drove for a layup and the girl caught her. tough to tell whether she was pushed or it was accidental. the game was already over i believe with the cougars up 30 points. tough break for the senior player.

  9. bbfan2 Says:

okay, i wasn’t at the game, but 3 min left and you’re up 30, you still got norcals, why risk it? the play by the down team sometimes becomes desperate, don’t know if that was the situation, but she shoulda been pulled. at least it wasn’t like a torn acl :(

  10. Prep Fan Says:

They were up closer to 36 or 37 points with just under 4:00 remaining. The game was out of reach for NG in the first quarter. I had just commented to a friend how strange it was that Erica Payne was still in the game with such a huge lead so late, and the collision occurred. No question in y mind she should have been pulled, as should have all the other starters much earlier. No, it wasn’t an ACL, but it was 2 broken bones in Ricki’s shooting hand and that is her bread and butter. I hope she is able to rehab it in time for Santa Clara’s season next year.

  11. McD Says:

That possible Oakland vs De La Salle game looks very nice.

  12. JB Says:

    castlemont boys by 5 !!!

  13. Scl Alum Says:

I’m predicting a Salesian – St Mary’s Nor Cal Final, with Salesian going back to State
