NorCal Bracket Challenge — semifinals

No change among the top three in the standings as we head into next week’s NorCal championship games. I’ve added Champions Alive to our leaderboard to show how many predicted champions each person still has alive. Multiply that number by eight and you’ll be able to figure out what your maximum score is.

Also, a little programming note. After next week’s championship games, everyone will be able to select the champion for each state title game. Your slate will be wiped clean and you’ll be able to pick each game, regardless of if you correctly selected the NorCal champion in that division. I’ll be taking your picks for each state championship game via the comment section with a deadline of 2 p.m. on Friday, March 26.

jimmy, just looked at my brackets because i found it odd that i only had 1 champ left. So I checked and I believe I still have eight champs left as i missed on the two D5 champs. Anyway you could check it out.

  2. Jimmy Durkin Says:

    Renegades,
Yep, that was a typo. You actually still have 9 remaining champs, you only missed on Div. 5 boys. I tally it up with how many champs you have that got eliminated, so my file listed you with 1 and so I messed up and put the 1 that got eliminated instead of the 9 still remaining.

  3. Prep Fan Says:

Jimmy, you may want to check Jeff Silva-Brown too. I think he has 9 remaining instead of 2.

  4. Prep Fan Says:

    Make that 8.

  5. Jimmy Durkin Says:

    Yep, another typo. Fixed now.

This is a tight race. With the addition of the state title games, prtty much everyone is still in it. OK, maybe not HiHo.

I’ve got Oak Ridge beating Berkeley (as does Kyle, Estrada & Moniz), and would stand to gain gorund on the top 3 if they win. Trouble is, Berkeley is looking so good right now that I don’t think that will happen and we’ll all fall further back. I’ll need that one, DLS beating Newark and Carondelet victory over Mitty and then I would at least stand a chance for the final week predictions. But it doesn’t look good.

Jimmy, I can’t remember. Did you say the state championship games were going to be 8 or 10 points each?

  7. Scl Alum Says:

Anybody got McKinleyville girls with an upset next Saturday vs St Mary’s (Albany) D IV?

  8. Prep Fan Says:

Not one person picked McKinleyville to win the NorCal title. They barely got past Justin-Siena by 2 points at home in NCS. They have a good squad with 6’1″ Washington St. bound Sage Romberg, but St. Mary’s counters with size in Danielle Mauldin and Emily Vann and has better guard play. St. Mary’s beat them already in the NCS finals and should win this one fairly easily.

  9. E_CULB Says:

Jimmy that’s cheating adding the state games! LOL!!

  10. Jimmy Durkin Says:

Look back at the first post E_CULB. I said from the beginning we’d include the state title games! Those are the best games of the year, we can’t leave them out!

  11. E_CULB Says:

But the question is now if B-High makes it do I vote with the heart and risk my shot at victory or do I go with my head and leave my heart at home?
