Here’s a look at the standings, along with everybody’s state championship picks. We’ve got several people who didn’t submit picks in time, so they have been disqualified. Now that the picks are public, I can’t take anymore picks from anybody. And since I’ve got an early wake-up to head down to Bakersfield, I can’t hold off much longer waiting for picks. So there are officially 14 of us competing for the NorCal Bracket Challenge title.

well now that I know I cant win because some folks ahead of me have the same picks as me I want to change my UNofficial pick to Newark Memorial…LOL

If Newark wins, I’m looking golden since I’m the only one to pick the Cougs!

Yep, not only is Junkie done, but so am I, E-Culb, and Stephanie.
It looks like the lynchpin is the St. Francis game in D2 boys. If Jeff wins that one, he’ll gain another 10 points on the 6 closest people to him, but if he loses that one, all 6 will gain 10 points on him and amazingly all are within 10 points of him and those are the only ones left in contention anyway.
Jimmy stands to gain some serious ground on everyone if Newark wins, but that is the last game of the year, and he might already be eliminated by tipoff.
Good luck to all.

Well, St. Francis got beat tonight in the “lynchpin” game, so Jeff falls right back to the pack, losing 10 points to his 5 closest followers. Everyone had MD beating Carondelet and Price beating St. Mary’s boys, so no blood there. Jimmy and Norman Rogers had St. Mary’s girls beating HW, so they each lost 10 points to the pack.
By my quick unofficial count, Jeff Silva-Brown and Kyle are heading into the final 6 games tomorrow in the lead at 253 and 252 respectively, closely followed by Big Tae at 250 and Jeff at 249. I’m at 245 and Junkie is at 250, but we both have all the same picks as Big Tae so we can’t win. Jimmy still has his ace in the hole with Newark in the final game, but the St. Mary’s girls loss hurt him bad. In order for Kyle to pass Jeff Silva-Brown, he’ll need for both D5 SoCal teams to sweep. Norman Rogers has been eliminated as he can’t pass Kyle even if Serra beats O’Dowd. It looks like there are 5 horses left and it could come right down to the wire.
Unofficial leader board
253 Jeff Silva-Brown
252 Kyle
250 Big Tae
249 Jeff
245 Prep Fan*
241 Norman Rogers*
240 HS Sports Junkie*
239 Jimmy
238 Stephanie*
236 E_CULB*
* Eliminated from 1st place contention

Key games remaining:
253 Jeff Silva-Brown: Serra, Bran, Pine

250 Big Tae: BOD, Bran, Pine
249 Jeff: Serra, Luth, Pine
239 Jimmy:

239 Jimmy: Newark, BOD, Luth, Pine

Pinewood beat SA in D5, so Kyle takes a majot hit, while all other contenders gain 10 points. However, I think he still has a chance if both BOD and Lutheran win, but then it would come down to the final game and if Newark wins Jimmy would overtake him.
