Berkeley football hire expected Monday or Tuesday

I spoke a short time ago with Berkeley athletic director Bill Gaebler, who said the school should be announcing it’s new head coach early next week. Look for the announcement to come Monday or Tuesday.

It appears to be Fred Sims. Just waiting on the official word from Berkeley to come down, probably Monday.

I heard that Paul Perenon applied for the position too.

Wow well if Fred got it I am so glad for him and hope that he can do a good job there. I am sure that he can!

Coach Sims is a very good coach. If he gets the job Berkeley is getting a good coach and a good man!

The hire is official. He has already met with the retuning players. Funny that this hiring does not have all the fan fare of the previous one. Or did I miss the press conference with the mayor this time.
I do agree with the group, this is a great hire. Sims will have no problem relating to the kids, he has a great football mind, and should be embraced by the staff and community. The only thing to be mindful of is the Private to Public school transition.

No Momma is not a hoop mom, sorry guys! I had the pleasure of working side by side with him as his team mom for 4 years! Sims doesn’t need any fanfare. he isn’t that kind of guy.

HAhah I am glad you approve. Just happy Sims stayed this last year to see our family through. Big things ahead!!!!!!!! I will always wear the red n white but you know I will be at B High games. Loved the last 4 years but happy they are done! So very happy:-)
