Final Lacrosse Rankings

Both boys and girls lacrosse finals were very exciting. De La Salle rallied in the fourth to beat Foothill while the Monte Vista girls came back in the second half and held off Amador Valley. A great ending to a fun season.

DLS DB Tyler Anderson headed to OSU

De La Salle cornerback Tyler Anderson, who shared the load at running back with Terron Ward last season, has accepted an offer to join Oregon State’s football team as a preferred walk-on for the 2011 season.

Carondelet sets new national girls swim record

Anyone who showed up late to today’s North Coast Section swimming championships missed perhaps the most exciting race of the day. Carondelet’s 200-yard medley relay team, made up of Madison White (backstroke), Allison Gargalikis (breaststroke), Christina Ray (butterfly) and Chelsea Chenault (freestyle) set a new national high school record in the event with a time of 1:40.80. The previous record of 1:41.68 was set a year ago by Carmel High School in Indiana. The scariest part might be that the Cougars’ relay team is comprised entirely of non-seniors. Chenault and White are freshmen, Ray is a sophomore and Gargalikis is a junior.
