St. Mary’s Trinity Wilson, who finished second in the girls 100-meter high hurdles in Saturday’s California Interscholastic Federation state track and field championships, has been named to the Team USA squad that will compete at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in August. Wilson produced the second-fastest time in the nation under all conditions this year for high school girls in her event (a wind-aided 13.35 seconds) according to DyeStat.com.
In addition, Tyler Sorensen of Lafayette has been selected to the boys squad in the 10,000 meter race walk. Wilson and Sorensen are the only California athletes on the team.
