Perkin, besides Ferndale there is no other public school that petitions up. The only reason Ferndale does it is because Div. 5 is so much weaker than Div. 4, they probably would have won the last 15 section titles. Plus, Div. 3 is going to be just as loaded at the top as Div. 2. You’ll have Novato, Cardinal Newman, Encinal, Eureka, Petaluma, Ygnacio Valley, amongst others. It’s going to be a tough road. Eureka already won Div. 2 as the smallest school, what else do they have to prove?

Compete at D-II until you lose you just won it all. What if they win it all at D-III all anybody will say is why didn’t they go up to D-II they could have went back to back. Winning a Major League championship then winning Triple A the next year is weak. I think its more of a no win at D-III.

We are returning several key plyers who started as juniors- qb-DeMartini, rb/db-Wilkinson, rb/lb-Faulk, wr/db-Spaight. The o-line should be strong. Look for the Loggers to be competetive.

Eureka is in D-III now? Why would they not petition back up to D-II after they just won it all? EHS Logger how do you think Eureka will do this year without that Big Time recruit?

Perkin- I think Eureka Fan was just clarifying that Eureka had made the trip to Oakland in 09 and that Castlemont will travel this year. I was having a hard time following the posts so I’m glad he did clarify.

Actually Eureka will be competing at DIII because that is the level for the size of their school. Last year Eureka was one of the smallest so this year we will be one of the largest in its division. It really is a no win situation for us either way. Many questioned the 4 seeding that Eureka had, but NCS got it right as the the top 4 teams competed in the semi and championship round. Now you are knocking us for not staying in DII. Like I said no win.

Eureka fan get over yourself. I see that Eureka hasn’t petitioned up to D-II so they can defend its D-II championship. Cause their Coach knows he has no USC recruit & will have a down year thats why their competing at D-III.

Eureka traveled to Castlemont last year. Castlemont is at Eureka this year. I said “like last year”, Eureka will dominate against an undisciplined defense trying to stop a well oiled wing-t offense.

Sorry KnightPride the Eureks guys said travel up to Eureka like last year. I just know they’re are programs out there that will offer soemthing for a team to travel 2 years in a row & I don’t think thats worth it. Pitt did that to Fremont High & I knw that Monterey has done that to teams in the past. I think DeAnza was the last to get suckered into that by Monterey.

Why is Castlemont traveling to Eureka 2 years in a row?? Whatever they offered pay for transportation whatever is not worth traveling 2 years in a row that far.
