All East Bay Boys Volleyball

Here are the first, second and third teams for boys volleyball.

FIRST TEAM

Pat Berrigan, Foothill, Middle blocker, Sr. — Berrigan stepped up big for the Falcons this year and for his efforts was named East Bay player of the year. He had 201 kills and 172 blocks on the season.

Trevor Fast, Northgate, Setter, Sr. — Fast had 705 assists, 233 digs, 55 kills and 27 aces this year for the Broncos, and he kept the team together through numerous injuries throughout the year.

Dan Cleland, Amador Valley, Setter, Jr. — Cleland was named the MVP of the EBAL after an incredible season of 933 assists, 129 digs, 43 kills and 35 blocks leading the Dons to a league title.

Will Klepac, Mission San Jose, Middle blocker, Sr. — Klepac was consistent night in and night out for the Warriors. He was first team All-MVAL and finished with over 400 kills and over 80 blocks.

Jason Agopian, Deer Valley, Outside hitter, Jr. — Agopian was the MVP of the BVAL as he set a school record with 452 kills. He also had 115 digs, 51 aces and 25 blocks on the season.

John Buchenauer, Amador Valley, Outside hitter, Sr. — The leading hitter for the Dons, he finished the season with 308 kills to go along with his 106 digs and 54 blocks in earning first team All-EBAL.

Matt Cutaia, Northgate, Outside hitter, Sr. — Cutaia’s all-around play almost led the Broncos to another NCS Division II finals as he finished the year with 361 kills and 283 digs.

Justin Fung, Foothill, Libero, Sr. — Fung was by far the best libero in the East Bay in 2010. He had 234 digs from the back, but also moved to the outside for a while and had 79 kills on the season.

SECOND TEAM

Nick Csongor, Foothill, Setter, Jr. – 766 assists, 151 digs, 73 blocks, 51 kills.

Scott Standring, Campolindo, Setter, Sr. – 774 assists, 83 digs, 67 aces, 47 blocks, 34 kills, DFAL MVP.

Brendan Byrne, De La Salle, Middle blocker, Jr. – 262 kills, 95 blocks, 40 aces.

Scott Dashner, Campolindo, Middle blocker, Sr. – 243 kills, 103 blocks.

Peter Edwards, De La Salle, Outside hitter, Soph. – 377 kills, 38 aces, 34 blocks.

Ricky Carillo, Berean Christian, Outside hitter, Sr. – DVAL MVP, school record 516 kills, 209 digs, 64 blocks, 60 aces.

Neal Barrina, Logan, Libero, Soph. – 400 digs, All-MVAL.

THIRD TEAM

Cole Stites-Clayton, College Prep, Setter/Outside hitter, Sr. – 258 kills, 195 assists, 137 digs.

Lucas Lipscomb, De Anza, Middle blocker, Sr. – 423 kills, 113 blocks, 98 digs, 65 aces, 32 assists, ACCAL co-MVP.

Mitchell D’Angina, Clayton Valley, Outside hitter, Jr. – 377 kills, 186 digs, 75 aces, 42 blocks.

Nate Silverman, Alameda, Outside hitter/Setter, Sr. – 281 kills, 372 assists, 150 digs, 83 aces, 26 blocks. ACCAL co-MVP.

Cedric Lousi, Washington, Outside hitter, Sr. – 375 kills, 225 digs, 67 blocks, 35 aces.

Adam Slattery, California, Outside hitter, Sr. – First team All-EBAL.

Andrew Lam, Northgate, Libero, Sr. – 215 digs, All-DVAL.

    What about Josh Barrina? That guy basically carried Logan with his brother Neal to ncs playoffs. How did he not make this team?
