After being named first team All-East Bay Athletic League and being named to the Bay Area News Group’s All-East Bay first team, Amador Valley High girls lacrosse goalie Caroline Federighi keeps piling up the awards.
This time the Oregon-bound keeper earned a $6,000 from the Pleasanton Operating Engineers Local 3, and was chosen for a combination of her academic excellence and her involvement in extracurricular activities.
Federighi has been a four-year member of the California Scholarship Foundation and of the Girls Exploring Technology, Science and Engineering Together programs.
Belonging to the Local 3 is a family tradition for the Federighi’s as her recently retired father Robert and two of her uncles, both brothers and various cousins and nephews are also members.
Operating Engineers Local 3 represents about 42,000 heavy equipment operators and other workers in construction, public works and law enforcement and will award 24 college scholarships this year. Two academic scholarships of $6,000 each are awarded to the first-place female and male applicants.
