Trinity Wilson, a St. Mary’s High student, won her heat in the girls 100-meter hurdles trials at the Youth Olympic Games Tuesday in Singapore.
Her wind-legal time of 13.88 seconds was the sixth-fastest time in the heats. Ekaterina Bleskina of Russia had the fastest trials time (a wind-legal 13.32). The finals will be held Saturday morning in Singapore.
In June, Wilson finished second as a sophomore in the girls 100 hurdles at the California Interscholastic Federation state track and field championships with a wind-aided time of 13.35. It was the No. 2 mark in the nation this high school outdoor season for all conditions.
