On the night before his senior season kicked off, Concord High defensive end Kevin Chase locked up his collegiate future, orally committing to San Diego State for the 2011 season.
“They run a lot of the same stuff we do,” Chase said. “I loved the coaching staff. It was the right fit for me.”
The Aztecs were the first to offer the 6-foot-3, 235-pound lineman a scholarship, a fact he said didn’t hurt in the recruiting process. He said he also considered Sacramento State before choosing San Diego State.
“They were the first ones to show me some love,” Chase said. “It was pretty much them the whole time.”

Welcome to SDSU! You’re going to be a part of something big, as you, your fellow recruits, Coach Hoke and his staff and the Aztecs take this program to the top!
